What mic is it..? With the quality of many current new mic's being so good, is the replacement justified..? If it's a quality mic from a Big Name, a replacement from the factory might be the best bet, but a new Superlux starts at £30. Not an option..? B|

Hi all, sorry iv been away for a few days in the sun 😎

ok  dad, they have been my secret weapon for years now, very hard to find, they are ROYTEK, hand made? in Italy about 25 years ago, these as you can see by the badge on the front of the case were a part of the "Proel" group and im sure i seen a strat copy ROYTEK guitar once !

    https://proelworld.com/it/it/it/it/it/

so i have only had one of them for about that long not 30ish as in the op, ( though does seem that long 🙂 .. ) they only pop up on ebay now and again, not seen one on there for years and this week one popped up so i grabbed that as well, though not with its case, may be an older one when they sold them without a case, its been a fantastic mic and my go to for all vocals, and on all the songs i have released, to put that in to context i have about 40 mics to choose from ( not joking ).

It still works as does the other two, its just on one when you get too breathy it can cut out, on saying that,,,if used with out a pop filter it always did do that, so i always use filters on them, but one now and again even with a filter when a singer gets abit too excited it will pop off, so thought it might be time for a capsule change, for the price of them prob worth a go, i know you can get them cleaned, i have done this myself in the past with good results.

Regarding changing the capsule iv got no probs as i do electronics anyway almost everyday, mainly fixing mixing desks and recorders for studios.

so the chance to get an original capsule is prob long gone unless the one used is a stock bought in part as most are.

    so al have a go.

    @ 80 hz

cheers i did try that, its not a preamp issue i have a fair few preamps including Amek 9098 and its the same on all,

Regarding the up grade of the cct board, for this one in particular as you can see its a modders dream, as there is no SM stuff,  just good, old school components with space, but yea, thats a whole new topic we could open up as reading some of the comments a few people would be interested in, would someone like to start a new post in the recording section regarding this or just carry on on this post ? but is something i would also be very interested in also.

    cheers all for your input,

  2. 34mm condensor mic capsule replacement

    has anyone done one ?

iv been using mine getting toward 30ish  years now and i think the capsules need replacing

mainly cutting out while singing with anything breathy, even though there is a pop filter

so to my question which ones are good ones ?

there are loads on ebay all about 20 to 30 quid, but are they any good ?

has anyone done one ? if so which one ?

and was there any difference in sound from the original ( when it was working )

    cheers all

We’re continuing our mission to provide you with a great selling experience on eBay, which is why we made it free to sell. Now, we’re improving delivery so it’s faster, easier, and more secure for you to send your items.

Starting from 15 April, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when listing most items. There’ll be a few exceptions, such as low-priced, bulky items, and local pick-up, which aren’t eligible for Simple Delivery.

    What is Simple Delivery?

Simple Delivery is our all-in-one delivery solution, designed to cut out all of the effort and save you money. It’s also the fastest way to get paid on eBay. Plus, buyers will benefit from savings and enjoy the peace of mind that tracking offers. Here’s how it works:

    1.

When listing, we’ll recommend the size and weight of your item. Just confirm and we’ll do the rest.

    2.

Once your item sells, you’ll receive both a printer-less QR code and a prepaid printable label, so you can choose what’s easiest.

    3.

Drop off your item at the nearest carrier location, or schedule a home collection and you’re done!

You’ll still be able to choose the carriers by going to Postage Preferences in your account settings. We recommend enabling all carriers for the most competitive postage rates.

    Benefits of Simple Delivery

Simple Delivery offers a faster and easier experience:

Fastest way to get payments: Get your funds 2 days after delivery confirmation when using our prepaid labels.

Save 20% off postage costs*: Get competitive rates to offer standard and express delivery with Royal Mail and Evri.

Full protection: Enjoy peace of mind with eBay's full coverage for items lost or damaged in transit, where we handle claims with buyers so you don’t have to.

Free postage option: Choose if you want your buyer to pay for the label, or offer free postage and cover the cost.

Prepaid and tracked labels: Labels come with automatic tracking so buyers always know where their items are.

Flexible labels: Use a QR code for quick printing at drop-off locations, or easily print your own label at home.

Positive feedback: From late April, you’ll automatically receive positive feedback for tracked transactions delivered on time, where no feedback has been left within 7 days and no issues are reported, so you get the recognition you deserve. Learn more about this change.

Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible. If you selected buyer-paid postage, this will stay the same when your listings are updated. If you’re covering the costs, they’ll be deducted from your sales. Click the button below to see what’s eligible.

I bought the last pair and they're great! 😊

    cheers tom, they are indeed

i use them all the time now for our backing singers, they love them, our singer tried them against his 58 and not joking he now has a pair as well, no feedback and full bandwidth sounding and after using them for a while they are still going strong, i use them for pa hire as well and never had any complaints.

i think what is going on here is tec nowdays is so good with very quiet components, and mass produced build quality,

it now just beats some of that old tec hands down for allot cheaper money

I thought the tax thing was not applicable for "private" sales? [I have been wrong before]

"In general, selling personal items is not taxed if they’re below £6,000 and you’re not selling as part of a business."

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/sellercentre/selling/selling-online-and-hmrc

    sort of... to a point.

here is what you get if you go over £1740

    --------------------------------------------------

We're reaching out to remind you of the UK digital sales reporting law. This law requires marketplaces like eBay to collect and report seller information if you meet one of these thresholds: 30 or more sales, or sales exceeding £1740 in a calendar year.

You can add your National Insurance number from account settings.

As a reminder, your tax obligations haven't changed. According to HMRC, if you’re selling a few unwanted personal items, like those stored in a loft or garage, it's unlikely that you'll need to pay tax.
If you're unclear about whether you need to report income, this tool from HMRC is a helpful guide. For more context on the information required to comply with this legislation, and how we protect your personal data, see our dedicated Seller Centre page.

    hope that helps,

I sell quite a bit on eBay and use Evri for tracking, which eBay tracking does not support.  This means that I will have to wait 14 days after an item is sold to be paid for it, making me seriously consider why I would use eBay at all.

Ebay have been very underhanded here, they said funds would be released 2 days after the item has been delivered.

but... they have removed the button that says "item received" so unless you use their posting and tracking service there is no way the person can say they have received their item, even when they leave feedback two days after they have bought it cus you sent an item next day delivery  and sent it on the day it was paid for, you still have to wait OVER two weeks for your cash.

    so...

ebay have a float of everyons cash for two weeks rolling, thats a sh!t load of cash that does not belong to them collecting interest FOREVERRRRRRRR.

    f£$&!n Robbers

and here is the new one.... get ready....

"Add your tax information to your account to get compliant with UK digital sales reporting legislation, and to avoid upcoming restrictions."

tax is also accountable for second hand goods being sold, so be careful selling your wal on ebay for £10K !

you might want to look into that regarding the boundaries of what is taxable and what is not !
