1. Hey Beedster - just added some photos now Let me know if you have any further questions.
2. Hi guys! My girlfriend is selling her Barefaced Compact - it's a V1 and it has the vintage grille, without the piping! So, a somewhat unusual beast. It's in incredible condition. It's only been out of the house a few times, and gigged once (very carefully) by me. Unfortunately it has one tiny mark on it (a very thin mark in the paint that's a few mm tops long and 0.5mm wide), but apart from that you could call it mint. It's probably pretty easy to touch up anyway. Either collection from Hove (from Saturday onwards preferably as we're also currently moving!) or would be happy to post at extra cost. Will get some photos up later, but let me know if you have any questions in the mean time. Thanks, Mike
3. How funny - I'm just down the road from you in Shoreham, and it looks like I own this bass' very similar-looking cousin right down to the hi-gloss finish, except my one is instead a 2006 Corvette Proline.

6. Hi guys, As the title says really - where do people usually buy them from? I've got a 2006 Warwick Corvette ProLine 5 that's got a crumbling JAN II, but the cheapest I've found for a plastic JAN III is on thomann.de which weighs in at about £30 including postage which is galling me a bit. I've also seen them in two different string groove styles (I can't find what they are now but I've definitely seen them - compensated and normal, I think it was?), as well as for fretless and fretted. I'm just going to get a 'normal' fretted one unless people know that's not going to be the correct one? Thanks in advance, Mike
7. Bump - over a month up on Basschat and no interest whatsoever? Am I doing something wrong ? It's a final drop to £475 posted, and then unfortunately the bass goes on eBay.
8. Bump - and I managed to get the bass that I wanted, so this is definitely up for sale. The price is now £575 ONO and including UK postage.
9. Hi guys, The usual story - I wasn't really planning on selling this bass, but I've seen something that I've been waiting to own for such a long time and this is the bass that I am least attached to selling. Here are the specs: - Fender Geddy Lee body (as bought from this very forum) - early 70s Precision Bass neck (it's a fretless neck re-boarded with a ziricote fretboard and jumbo frets. Tasty!) - USA 1975 RI pickups (grounded and shielded to death!) - USA Fender 50th Anniversary control plate - Fender spiral-saddle bridge - Copper strip groundplate (because it looks cooler and I think gives a really solid ground connection) - Gotoh Res-o-lite tuners (these cost a fortune, and give the bass great balance) It's definitely not a 'showroom' aesthetic bass guitar. The neck is nice and well-worn at the back but the trussrod is in great condition (always been adjusted with the right tool and the rod is smooth to turn), the body has got many hits and scrapes but is functionally perfect. I had another body on this guitar but this fits *much* better; there is a gap of about 1/4" at the bottom of the heel, but could be easily covered up with a scratchplate and it never really bothered me. If anything, it actually means you can adjust the neck with the truss rod in-situ which is not common for a heel-adjust old Fender neck at all! The neck also has threaded inserts which use the standard body holes without modification as they're a little smaller and don't use the existing threads; just the ones that have been installed in the neck. The guitar is DEAD silent. I went through so much effort to get the pickups shielded and grounded as much as possible. The pickups solo'd hardly even hum which really surprised me; the only way to get them to hum is have it a foot away from a MacBook or something similar. The only negative is that the machine heads aren't 100% uniformly straight at the back of the neck. This is because the previous owner installed some 60s Fender bass machine heads and I've just used the existing holes; this could be tidied up pretty easily but as it stands the machine heads work 100% fine and I've left that decision up to the next owner. Cash on collection or I can post [s]at cost[/s] inclusive - just message me beforehand to ask me how you'd like to do this. [s]Also bear in mind that I may not be selling the bass, depending on if I'm able to get what I want. [/s] Of course, let me know if anybody's got any further questions. I can take further pictures if anybody wants them. Thanks! Mike
10. Just to clear this up... As Zak is a private seller, this would (legitimately) be marked as a 'Gift' which means that this would be exempt from both VAT and import duty.
11. Am definitely planning to go to this Where do I pop my name down - do I copy and paste the list into a new post or something?
12. Hi guys! I would like to convert my Lakland 44-01 to entirely passive, and in a very similar style to this: I would like the top control to be for volume, two tone controls, a balance control instead of the top switch and the bottom switch for series/parallel wiring for when both pickups are on. How would I wire something like this, and what type of switch and balance pot would I need to achieve this? I've already know what to use for tone pots and volume. Thanks very much
13.
Actually an acoustic trio would give me an excuse to make myself a rob allen style bass that I've been longing for
Now, THIS I'd like to see...
14. Hello everybody! I know somebody who is selling an Eden CXM110 cabinet for a decent price. I am looking to use this with double bass by itself (and possibly with a Barefaced Compact) for blues band gigs, as well as potentially jazz gigs all by itself with a MarkBass SA450 (so, 300W going into it). What will this be like, volume wise? I imagine that there may be some issues by itself as it's a single 10", but all of your thoughts would are welcome. Thanks in advance! Mike
15. Just to update - this is definitely sold now. Thanks very much everybody
16.
MB1. You sure these aren't Schillers?
Care to explain ? Edit: Just found what you were referring to! In that case, I'm definitely sure they're not...
17.
Hi Mike - can you measure the post diameter on these? I've got a Mighty Mite neck here that could do with a set of tuners. Also - do you know if they're chrome or nickel? Cheers
Hello utune, These should be 1/2" posts, as they fit no problem on my original Fender neck. Unfortunately, it looks like a buyer may have beaten you to the punch These are now sold pending payment, but I will let you know if anything changes. Mike
18. Hello everybody! I've got for sale a complete set of original 1970s Schaller BFML machine heads, complete with screws and headstock ferrules. Really good condition and, of course being Schallers, operate very smoothly and with no hassle at all. Ferrules are also included and are in perfect condition, but I didn't want to take them out to photo as it's probably not a great idea to be doing this too willy-nilly. Please let me know if you've got any questions at all. I'm happy to ship these outside of the UK as well - just let me know where you'd like to get them sent, and I can get you a shipping quote. Thanks for looking! Mike
