1. I'd love to try a Beta and a blueberry through my rig someday, to compare to my beloved BB preamp. I'm more than happy enough with the BB, and scared of going down the rabbit hole again after my ridiculous delay quest... but would still fancy trying them some day Recently buying my first house has forced my arm on this really! There is always a new muff, a new o/d, etc, to try... such a shame there aren't any / many shops over here that stock these fx so you can just sit down and try them all back to back
2. the octave sounds pretty good, seems to track pretty well. I didn't like the demos of the Zeus at all, but this one sounds good. Redundant if you have an analog octave pedal and a decent overdrive, but if not, probably cheaper than buying two pedals I guess!
3. I returned it, the carrier signal was far too loud to be usable. mayble mine had bypassed final QC? Either way, it wasn't for me so back it went.
4. just got home with a new DOD gonkulator in my hands... but too late to try it tonight very much looking forward to making some noise tomorrow though!!!
5. hummingbird is on my radar, glad that was impressing folks that hoof reaper looks very tasty too!
6. I'm still very much on the fence with this pedal... will be very interested in feedback for non-PA situations, and how much this pedal can be felt just going through a 4x12 cab, or similar, with no big subs or PA...
7. really sad I had to miss this - what were the standout pedals on that vast EQD board for everybody?
8. hope everyone has a great night, I'm not there as I had a head-on collision on my bike on the weekend and still pretty concussed gutted - hope somebody vids it!!
9. cool, i'll get there nice and early just in case
10. well they are working a 'guest list' system for the other nights - sounds fair, but yeah, would be good to know before i head east, else it's a long trip!!!
11. just bought my coach ticket for this - worth a road trip from Bristol - excited!
12. nope - I put my name down on Brighton as it was getting very full (I was the last one on the list when it closed) - as I didn't know the time of the Wunjos. Just going to do London, providing I can tie in some work / excuse to be around London that day!!
13. 1. Shockwave 2. such 3. Ordep 4. toneknob 5. Left foot 6. Sibob 7. Bluejay 8. Happy Jack 9. Gaz Wills OK, 6pm should be good, just need to try and arrange a meeting or something in London that day
14. [s]So it's going to be quite a road trip for me, but got my name on the list for the Brighton in-store on friday 11th... What I spend on petrol I save on a night away from the pub!!! anyone else going? mostly seems to be folks from Brighton...[/s] edited, as going to London now!
15. depending on the times, I'd be in
16. hmmm, might change plans and head to Brighton on the Friday, 5 hours in the car though - long way to see him noodle on some EQD pedals
17. ahhh damn it, terrible timing, can't make it to either of those two I can't see the link you posted at work Si, is it just the bournemouth and Brighton dates, 11 and 12 Sept, or are there others??
18. plus he has everything you need for a gig.... pedals, leads... multi-pack of, like, 12 snickers bars
19.
Yeah, I use both. The Blueberry sounds softer, tubier, squelchier, more Motown. The BB has more clarity and raunchiness, more Geezer Butler!
ok, thanks - lots to ponder
20.
a Bearfoot Blueberry, BB Preamp
how do those two compare? until (along with a few other pedals) my BB preamp was nicked recently, it was my only low gain o/d... I was going to replace it as I always loved it, but the bear foot has me interested - do you use both??
21. another little update form me - as I did end up getting the Metro 24 soft case. The board is fine, but the case is a let down, no longer has a side pocked or anywhere to put leads, plectrums, etc. Don't really see it as an improvement at all... first world problems though!! plus edit to say pedaltrain have the best customer service I've ever encountered, so can't grumble too much!
22. Love the board, but soft case worse than the old design IMO. No side pouch and the zip keeps sticking, and seems no more sturdy. But shoulder strap clip placement is better...
23. In the current band (at that setting), I use it for for volume swells – feed a fuzz into it and it’s fantastic for string-esque volume swells, with the reverb/delay combo... I use it loads at home for just playing unaccompanied, the reverb is just lush. But in the band, for now, just for ambient pads and swells, the delay is not too pronounced, especially with the reverb turned up, so it works well for that. However, this now reminds me that I have to put the TFR back on the board, as I need it for flippin’ volume swells!!
24. new setup to accommodate the DOD preamp - which sounds pretty damn nice so far (though just bedroom use til next week!) the W&C tall font is off the board for now, not getting much use in the new band since the arrival of the TK421x, but this surely can't last
25. bought a DOD preamp from Ordep - super easy transaction, pedal packaged securely and arrived the very next day cheers Ordep Gaz
