1. NOW SOLD. THANKS.

    One well-loved bass for sale...

Its a 1984 Matsumoku Aria Pro II SB Elite-II in beautiful translucent black. Its a bit of a rarity as they mostly came in padouk red or oak.

    • 2 MB II Double coil pickups
    • 5-ply maple/walnut transmit neck
    • 24 fret, rosewood board
    • Slimmer neck than the SB-1000
    • Vol, tone, pu selector, 2 coil taps

There's a small bit of wear on the edge near the strap button that I've marked on one of the pics, but that's it. Great condition, all original, plays beautifully. Comes with suitable retro burgundy leatherette gig bag.

Looking for £500, I'm not looking for trades on this one.

Metallica and Duran Duran fans should love this. I do.

  2.
This goes straight into a Stingray 4 with no mods except soldering 2 wires. It's as new except that I've fitted it and then removed it. It wasn't really the sound I'm looking for.

It's a replica of the Pre Ernie Ball pickup and is supposed to replicate that sound. Also a cure for the weak G string that afflicts some Stingrays.

Bought from Bass Direct this week for £107.

Did you use another pickup instead of the Nordy you removed? I'm thinking of buying one, and cant decide between this or one of the Seymour Duncan ones.

  3. One well-loved bass for sale...

Having a bit of a clear out to make (wallet) room for my new Harley, so I'm begrudgingly passing on a few of my treasures.

£650 would persuade me to give it up, I'm not looking for trades on this one.

  4.
it's just a sh*te pickup thing imho.
i spent ages mucking about with strings & e.q. settings all to no avail.
bung a Nordy in & you'll love it Dave :)
What kind of sound does the Nord give you? I've heard the Seymour Duncan is pretty faithful to the original MM tone, I don't want to sacrifice that just to get more volume out the G string? I've got a 2006 30th Anni Ray which sounds immense apart from the faint G string...
