  1. I bought a Cirrus 5 (Indonesia) about 6 months or so ago as I thought it might be handy to deal with the drop D songs without de-tuning and I love it. Really high quality. I definately gonlooking at other Peaveys now. Maybe even a 4 string Cirrus too....
  2. Tell me more....
  3. OK. Thanks. Guess I'll keep an eye out for another 1501.
  4. We have a PA consisting of a Behringer Wing mixer (too complicated for me to use. I like old fashioned knobs!), Mackie SRM 450 tops and SWA1501 bottoms. One 1501 is ours, the other is "borrowed". We've been looking for a second 1501 for us, but I see on-line that they can have expensive reliability problems. If we bought another manufacturer's bass bin and use both together, would it / could it cause problems? At least then, if the Mackie died we would still have the other.
  5. Did you get it sorted? If you have 3mm at 12th fret and still getting buzz it sounds like you may need to "un-shim" the neck (or raise the action even higher). The heel clearly needs to be lower to get rid of the buzz. How straight is the neck? Have you checked by just capo-ing at 1st fret and fretting a string at about 16th fret. Do you have a very slight gap under the string at about 7th fret?
  6. I've shimmed mine previously with just a narrow piece of business card or similar. You need it to be as long az the width of the neck and about 5 or 6mm wide is fine. Loosen your strungs and then unscrew the neck. Put the card at the end of the neck pocket and screw the neck back in. Re-tune and adjust the height of the bridge to suit your preferences. If your actuon was too low to start with and you can't get it high enough, then you'll need to put the shim at the other end of the neck pocket. Have a fiddle to see what works. You won't break it.
  7. How about picking up men on here? Probably not either!
  8. Pen Shop Boys Pet Show Boys Pet Shop Bogs Pit Stop Bots (damn too many letter changes...)
