Spoke to my tutor about Flea.....he reckons he's a one trick pony and if he had to play Jazz or something he wouldn't have a scooby. Personally I can't stand him because whenever someone choses a fantasy band line up it's always him or Mark King because it's the only bassists they can think of.

Just finished watching Guy Pratt playing with Bryan Ferry on the BBC session on BBC4. I don't like Dylan much but I have to say Mr Ferry has a knack of doing excellent cover versions. Anyway, did anyone else see it as Guy was playing a beautiful looking bass which I couldn't identify...any ideas anyone? I think it may have been a Status Vintage GP or something similar

Steve Severin (siouxsie & the banshees) not the greatest but pretty cool all the same...he has an early Seventies (American) Fender Jazz he calls the Ayatollah.

It just sounds too funky to be played by a drummer hitting some strings but I wasn't there so I don't know Having just googled this the hi-hat on the track itself appear to have been played by one Mr S Copeland!
