  1. I was in Badlands recently trying out a used but mint Squire 40th Jazz. The owner and I sat and chatted about the whole Fender standard move. Nice chap, great shop. But please someone go buy that Jazz and save me from my GAS.

  4. My 3D bridge is a pleasure to adjust compared to my Sandberg. Setting the intonation on it once was enough. I'm never changing it again, and I don't care if new strings, or a truss rod adjustment put the intonation out. Nothing wrong with a standard Fender bridge IMO. It's basic but it works. So to answer the OP question - all Sandbergs should use a basic L shaped bridge.

  8. But imagine it was a bass, it would look pretty cool right?
  9. Yeah I just realised. What was I thinking? Lol. I've had a hard couple of days. It's late, I'm tired. It won't happen again 😂 Let it be known, I am a bass player first and foremost. Always have been, always will be. Low end FTW.
  10. The only reason I bought my fender was because they made something different. This but in sunburst.
  11. That's worth a go. Thank you.
  12. There's a hot sauce thread? Woop!
  13. Plenty of average drivers buy Ferraris, and while they can't drive like Nigel Mansell, the tone is amazing. 😉
  14. I'll leave them dull. If I polish the pickups they'll end up looking better than the bass 😁
  15. Hi, I'd like to put a small bevel on my p and j pickups to make them more comfortable. El cheapo pickups in my squier are very uncomfortable to rest a thumb on, or catch when thrashing with a plectrum. Has anyone done this, and if so what did you use to bevel them? Am thinking a small block with some sandpaper but not sure what grit? Thanks in advance.
  16. Getting a luthier setup was far cheaper than getting a PLEK setup. Honestly can't tell the difference between my Sandberg which came factory PLEK'd and my Squier Affinity PJ which recently had a luthier setup. Hope that helps.
  17. ... Kinda like helping someone with limited mobility to strum their guitar. I applaud inclusivity in music. You never know when you'll need a helping hand with your instrument.
  18. Somewhere an advanced civilization of aliens is observing us and wondering why we stamp where on our tiny planet something has been made due to billions of years of tectonic plate movement and subsequent territorial markings. Perhaps we ought to start all our Fender serial numbers with PE - "Planet Earth".
  19. A couple of Fender Pro II Jazz basses I tried recently either had string misalignment or bridges which were not flat to the body, as the arm carve encroached underneath a corner of the bridge (or maybe a warped bridge?) I'll stick with my Squier Affinity thanks, which due to a recent luthier setup has fantastic action, beautiful polished frets and smooth fret ends. I'm proud to have the S on my headstock. Edit: in fact it looked just like this. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/bridge-separating-from-body.1450437/
