I’ve always been a fan of Ashdown. I had a Mag 300 410 combo that i paired with a Mag 410 cab and it sounded massive. Put a boss sd1 into a odb3 in a loop on a ls2 for drives. Input gain all the way up, all eq’s at midday apart from the hi mid which was back at about 10o’clock, squier pbass bass special with the bottom 4 of a rotosound 5 string set (we were playing in drop c#, so low e a 135 🤘🏻) and a stainless steel tipped Dava pick. It’s still wht i base all my bass sounds on to this day. I’ll build the rig back up again at some point. But damn, it was a good rig for what it cost me back then (being an Ashdown dealer helped 😁)

Off to see Volbeat in Cardiff tomorrow, Dogma at the Thekla in Bristol in May then Metallica also in Cardiff in June. This will be mixed with all the tribute bands i'll be mixing throughout most of the year so get a good mix of it all. Actually i'll be seeing Dirty DC in Weymouth in a couple of weeks as well, can't forget that one, i'm being paid to go 😃

It's really good to see so much love for the little XR/MR18 mixers. I was fortunate enough to be given an MR18 by a good friend of mine as he said it was a bit iffy. However, a firmware update and some reflowing of a few xlr joints on the pcb and a couple of years later it's still going strong! The rack contains a budget IEM until the gear fund is enough to get a ew300 G4 kit. Around the back is 1u patch panel with Powercon and 2 thrus to feed my kemper rack and a 4 way for laptop, chargers etc... Also scored a Behringer P16D and a couple of P16M controllers which the bass player and the drummer have. The little green Cat5 is for the drummers Roland TD12 inputs (4 way rack di at the bottom of his rack with the cat tails coming from that) This enables my singer, lead guitarist and my self to use the stereo auxes on the mixer itself as we're all wireless iems in stereo.
