  1. I use a handtruck with pneumatic tyres for my Trace combo.. all terrain!
  2. I bought this yesterday.. so it will be en route to Dublin this week BTW.. having checked on comreg (Irish Comms Regulator) all short range wireless microphone/audio systems are exempt here at present. Im sure its just a matter of time before we have to buy licences though.
  3. Sting is notoriously hard to take off.. used to see loads of ads for singers "to complete Police tribute line-up" (Wonder where they got the drummers!) The vocalist from The Script kinda has it tho. Word of advice? Dont hurt your voice and sing in your natural tone. John
  4. The thing with this is.. its so easy for anyone to strum out triplets from R,M,I but if its to have any impact it needs to go the other way I,M,R. that way you can add either thumb to get a quaver or repeat the middle for the same effect. No harm having fast triplets but for most popular music its best to work in 4's. 16ths at 190bpm is really fast!! My poor brain hurts thinking about it! Im aiming for 16ths at 140.
  5. Look on Youtube, lots of players use 3.. Billy Sheehan demonstrates it well. Ive only started practising it and already up to speed Id get with 2, should get faster soon. Index, middle, ring, middle etc. works well at you get 4 hits in each cycle.
  6. Thanks for the advice people, I'll leave my bass as it is and keep working on technique. Gigged last nite fingerstlye all the way (no pun!) and never even thought about where my thumb was resting once!
  7. Hi all.. My first post so hope Ive got it in the right section.. BTW, loving the site, a mine of information! Ive a 4 string Stingray and recently began to get into fingerstyle.. find Im resting my ring finger on E when playing ADG, which is fine (?) and resting thumb on the single pickup when playing E string. Id like to add a thumb-rest as I find the pickup awkward to rest on. Are there any issues with this? Im not concerned about devalueing guitar as its just a couple of screwholes in scratchplate. Not selling it anyway! Look forward to hearing some opinions on this. Cheers!
