1. Hi! I'm interested in the head but, like Dex, I'm not familiar with it. Could you post a spec?
2. BUMP - and contrary to what I said above to Jake, I am now interested in trades. Times is better & I wants me a 3/4 acoustic!
3. MEEE!!!! Just fired it up for the first time today. I know it's criminal that I've left it so long but I've had a mad couple of months trying to get my new flat together. But I am sooooo happy with it, thanks Marc! It's gonna get it's first run out on Friday at a beautiful venue called Wilton's Music Hall in Tower Hill. A suitably gorgeous stage for a bloody gorgeous rig. There should be photos so I'll post some up when I get em... Cheers again!!!
4. Man I wish I'd paid more attention in physics lessons. I've got the feeling I'll have to re-read this thread at least four more times before the information starts seeping into my brain. Anyone else think that "Speakon" is a weird name for a socket? It was strange saying "I'd like a Speakon to Speakon cable please" in the shop earlier...
5. Yeah it says coaxial in the manual and doesn't mention anything else. There's no label on the socket so I'll presume it's 2-pole and cross my fingers Thanks a lot for your help!
6.
No problem. Just make sure you know how they're wired. Chances are it's +1/-1 to +1/-1, but some amps do strange things...
How do I find that out? Why are these things never simple?
7. For the record Bass Cellar don't do Speakon-Speakon cables either. I really hate that place...
8. Yes it's Speakon-Speakon sorry I'm completely ignorant when it comes to this kind of thing. Thanks for the recommendation!
9. Hi! Anyone know where in London I can buy a coaxial speaker cable for my lovely new Warwick Hellborg rig? I've got a gig on Friday and I really want to give it it's first run out. I've tried ringing up bass shops (Bass Cellar, Bass Gallery etc...) and looking online but to no avail Cheers, Sumbabba
10. The wait is killing me! I got introduced to Sandbergs by a friend of mine and every one of their basses I've played since then has been a peach. I'll post some pics when I get it
11. Sandberg PM4 Supreme with alder body/imbuia (Brazilian walnut) top, matching headstock, mother of pearl block inlays on a rosewood fretboard, single-ply black scratchplate, Delano active pickups and chrome hardware. Delivery date mid January. Here's a mock up of what this puppy's gonna look like.
12.
You have a PM.
Just put in an order for a PM4 Supreme (the only difference is block inlays and matching headstock) at £1300. This bass is a STEAL!
13. Hi all, I've got a full size (4/4) approx. 130 year old double bass for sale. I now have a very portable 3/4 Yamaha SLB200 electric upright so it never gets the use it deserves. It could do with a new fingerboard & bridge and it's had extensive repair work done (see pics) by Radek Bubrle in Prague but it sounds absolutely gorgeous with tons of character. With a bit of TLC this will be a badass bass! Apparently it was brought in by a gypsy player (the cut down fingerboard is definitely a characteristic of that style of playing) and you can hear the history of it in it's seriously fat tone. It's been valued at £3500 by Malcolm & Jane Healy Violins in Surrey but I'm open to offers in the region of £2900. Here are the details: 4/4 German double bass circa 1880. Flat back with a viol shape. Back and ribs are a medium flamed maple. Front is a wide grained spruce. Hat peg machines. Chesnut brown varnish. Measurements: Length of back - 111.5cm Top bout width - 55.8cm Middle bout width - 39.0cm Bottom bout width - 68.0cm String length - 110.0cm Estimated value (for insurance purposes) - £3,500 but I'm open to offers. I'll also throw in a gig bag and a stand which are worth a couple of hundred quid. Valuers - Malcolm & Jane Healy Violins, Sutton, Surrey. Thanks, Sumbabba
14. +++ OOPS! Just realised I've posted this in the wrong section! I'm gonna post it again in the For Sale section. I'm a total noob and couldn't work out how to delete . So if any mods want to delete this one then feel free! +++ Hi all, I've got a full size (4/4) approx. 130 year old double bass for sale.
