    I'm not a p-bass fan, but jesus christ is that one of the nicest instruments I have ever seen! Unfortunately I will never be able to afford something like this, but good luck with the sale...

    I can't offer you an exact answer to the question, but I know some things that might help. I play quite close to the neck, so that automatically gives me a warm and deep sound. As for gauge, I think you could have really heavy strings, and still get a thin tone by playing near the bridge. But I gotta say, recently I changed my standard strings for flats and the tone is so noticeably thicker which a perfect top end. For me, gauge has always been to do with what feels right for you.

No, in all honesty I think most of the comments made here are quite lenient, if my friend borrowed a piece of equipment that was even somewhat precious to me and he damaged it, I wouldn't hesitate to introduce physical violence. I wonder what that says about me for one of my first posts Anyway, I'm not that kind of person really, but you just don't f*** with a mans instrument! I have a crappy old guitar which is quite precious to me, if anything were to happen to it I'd go mental. I can't really explain the relationship between a man and his instrument (please don't misinterpret the word instrument ).

    So yeah, this is my all-important intro. I signed up just to place an ad, but this place looks very friendly and I think I will stay. What's to say? I started off playing drums, which lasted for 3 years, then I decided to take an ego trip for 2 years with the guitar! Half a year later at the age of 17, I'm now more into music than I've ever been, playing the bass that is. I've never practised and progressed more on anything than I have with the bass, I think I have found my instrument. I listen to a lot of progressive genres, doom metal, jazz and recently old school indie. My bass heroes include Jaco Pastorius, Geddy Lee, Sean Malone and Marcus Miller. And that's all there is really.

It says 199 quid there, but I'm willing to take offers with a starting price of £120. It's in almost mint condition apart from some very tiny dents at the tip of the headstock (I don't know if this is common for you all, but I [i]always[/i] manage to chip or dent the tip of the headstock). I play it at home through a 100w Laney Linebacker, and sometimes a Marshall B25 MKII and it sounds beautiful through both amps. It has 3 knobs; a balance, master tone and volume, and they are all very effective and enable you to get a wide variety of sounds. The reason I am selling this is simple; I need funds for a Geddy Lee signature! [b]Pictures will be up soon[/b], and more info if anyone wants it. As for postage, it will be £10 standard mail, or if you want a specific courier, I will find out the price.
