1.
Musicians are just running out of chords.... (includes Under The Bridge, funnily!)
The best video I have seen for ages.

As for DV the melody is clearly from under ther bridge. As Dood's video shows even if you have the same chord sequence it's the melody that will make the song an dwhat people will remeber it for. DV claims the chords are not the same, but all she has done is to use a different key. Hope she gets sued.

2.
Umm, don't ask. Not oriental in any way but do play bass. Been playing for 30 odd years. After hearing Level 42 and RTF what's a guy to do?
Suzy Wong was also, I seem to remember, the name of a Girlie bar in the Wan Chai district of Hong Kong. I'll leave it there, I'm not asking only speculating!

3.
I'm looking at going on one of the days, most probably on the Sunday. I know it sounds a bit starry eyed, but does anybody know if JPJ will be signing stuff?
Last time he was interviewed by Adrian Ashton and then jammed out some blues with a guitarist - pumping stuff!

4. The annual Mansons Guitar Show is coming up again, on October 23rd & 24th in Exeter.

The list of confirmed artists are:

John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin/Them Crooked Vultures) again!
Martin Barre (Jethro Tull)
Jan Akkerman (Focus)
Jerry Donahue (Fairport Convention/ The Hellecasters)
Michael Manring
Alex Hutchings
Walter Trout
Jas Morris
Alex Bershadsky

I'll give it a go on the Sunday as I'm getting some carpets fitted on the Saturday. Not sure who will there on Sunday but will phone Mansons before hand to find out. JPJ was good 2 years ago. Last year Guy Pratt was great. Michael Manring sounds interesting.

I'm going to take our 11 year old son who has started on guitar (I know what you're thinking) and got a great second hand Jackson Performer PS-1 from Mansons a few months ago, even I got a bit excited!

Who's up for it or not?

Edit. Just realised I posted this in the wrong section, before you comment.

5. There is this GP12 Hexavalve preamp on eBay in Berlin with postage to the EU.

6.
I have seen in this months Bass Magazine a photo of the tuning gear of the Manson John paul Jones Bass, there is a small lever
as part of the Tuning Gear. I assume it alters the tension and allows it to return to correct Tension, I have seen players using something like this on Videos but not been able to hear what it does.
I am sure you guys know
It's a Hipshot D-Tuner which allows you to quickly flip between E & low D. I have them on 2 of my basses

7.
Jazz Basses are utter crap...
Precision Basses also have numerous design Flaws.
Fender on the whole are gash.

But if you choose anything more expensive, you're obviously some kind of bellend.
What does that say about Mark King & his Alembic bass then?

8. I used to use a Boss 4 channel stereo mixer. A great cheap way of getitng over the problem.

Now I just use my MM Stingray & Aria Pro 2 fretless, in the active & passive inputs on my TE AH200 head, and luckily I only have to turn up the input by one notch (1/2) for the Aria to match the volume of my Ray.

9.
Just in case anybody who isn't going really wanted to, here's a quick summary of what the gig will be like:

Clackety clackety, clickety clackety, clackety clack, clickerty clack.
<lame singing>
Clickety clackety clack, clackety click
<lame singing>
Clickety clickety clack, clackety clack, clackety clack, clickety clack
<more lame singing>
Lights go up
Let's not forget in the middle of the set the even lamer singing of Mike Lindup on keys doing his feature solo song! :)

10.
Did he contact you before opening the dispute? That's the first thing ebay/paypal will ask. Communication is EVERYTHING. Only a complete c*** will not respond to good, timely comms and gentlemanly conduct.
The 2 times I've had issues with sellers I tried my best to communicate as they suggest and left it the recommended time before submitting a claiam and then escalating it to a dispute. In both cases neither seller bothered to contact me at all. There are some right to55ers out there and those that jump straight into a dispute should be reigned in and held to account.

11. Your'e not playing a MM Stingray are you (only joking). There's enough been said about the G string on this forum! What bass are you playing?

Presumably the problem is quite new and was not so bad or noticable before?

Change your strings, change your tone settings, lower the pup under the E&A, get a Fat Finger. Never an easy solution.

12.
If I had the cash I would buy up everything Trace Elliot, similar to Thornybank

I absolutely love this stuff. Its such good quality, reliable gear

Whoever buys this whether beginner or advanced is going to love it
Have a bump on me. I can feel my trouser legs flapping just looking at that rig!

I've always fancied the Trace cabs to go with my AH200 Series 6 head but never got round to it.
