  1. Party time with Nile Rodgers & Chic. Bass a bit low in the mix. I'll be seeing them on Thursday evening at Powerham Castle when they support Duran Duran. 2 mega bass players to enjoy there!

  2. We were supposed to have a gig at our favorite pup, the Coach House in Paignton last night. A couple of weeks ago we heard it was closing in June and we thought this would be our last gig there. It turned out it closed on the 1st of June. Luckily, we will get some gigs at another pub across town that know us, so all is not lost. We have been playing at the Coach House for 20 years, and I played there in my previous band too. The end of an era for sure.

  3. We were back at The Queens Arms in Brixham on Saturday night. I managed to bag a parking space right outside, which is unheard of. Another good night with an appreciative landlord and crowd. During the break a guy came up to ask me about my rig as he didn't recognise my Ashdown RM 500 evo ii and BF 210 cab, so we had a chat about them. He was actually a guitarist and did recognise  my stingray, and was very complimentary on my sound and the balance with our guitarist. 11pm finish luckily, so no too late arriving home.

  4. Just got back from a great gig at The Queens Arms in Brixham with a good crowd who were very appreciative. It was an 11pm finish which helps with loosing an hour too. We played well, although there were a few 'moments' but we always get through them. I had my usual rig of Stingray 2eq, RM500 evo ii and BF210. Also, wearing my usual Skechers which are very comfortable. We have recently got a new mixer, as our old started to play up so it was quick replaced, which has worked wonders with our sound. It's well organized with wall mounted speaker brackets and lights, so less gear to bring. We don't bother with the sub here either. As with all the pubs we play at we get a free drink each (JD & Coke for me)and tonight that also included a couple of free lime and sodas which is my gigging drink as I drive. Bit of a break now till the next gig, but we'll work on some new songs.

  5. Our first gig of the year last night at the Coach House in Paignton. A good crowd for us who got into it as the night went on. Towards the end of the first set our guitarist was out front soloing and told me after the song that I was not loud enough out front, so I duly boosted my PA level. Chatted to a couple of appreciative people along the way. My calouses felt like they got a work out as it been a couple of months since I've played live. Got a couple more gigs over the next month, but only 11 booked for this year so far. Using my usual Stingray 2eq, RM500 & BF210. I was also wearing my Sketchers.
