  1. Back at one of our regular pub gigs in Brixham. A bit quieter than usual as it wasn't advertised, but with  some of our regulars and the rest it was ok crowd wise. Got complimented on my playing by some old boy who chatted to myself and our drummer when packing up. A big surprise was getting asked out by a lovely lady, a friend of one of our regulars, who I was chatting to in the break. She was a bit embarrassed she hadn't seen my wedding ring! Still, it's good to know I've still got it, although it wasn't my bass playing that got her attention.

  2. Back to the coach house in Paignton, our favourite venue. The power cut when were setting up. It transpired that one of our powered PA speakers internal fuse blew. We tried a spare and that blew too. Luckily the pub has its own old Vox PA in the corner. We rigged it up as a stack to one side and connected it to one of our desk outputs. A bit of tweeking and we got a good sound. We had to cut a couple of songs from the first set and played well. Next problem us getting it fixed as it's a class D powered.

On the way out there was an incident just up the road from the pub with the police and ambulance in attendance. When I got home the air ambulances flew over and apparently flew the person to Plymouth.

  3. A few gigs ago I was setting up my rig and was ensuring all was well before the band sound check. There was strange distortion sound from my rig which was slighty annoying. I wasn't sure if it was my speakers, BF 210 or my amp, Ashdown RM500. I couldn't hear it with the band going so no problem for the gig. At home I tried to recreate the problem and found out the onlytime I could hear the distortion was when I had my hearing aids in as they can't handle the low frequencies! I now take them out when setting up my rig prior to putting my earplugs in for the sound check and gig.
