At last Macca's set is on the iPlayer.
-
I can't see Macca's set on iPlayer. I didn't stay up to watch it all due to the 1 hour delay, which I find odd by the BBC. Hoping to watch the remaining today?

Whenever there is music at The Priston Club he comes down (in his shorts!) and chats to bands.
He's still wearing his shorts! Bumped into him near Minehead a couple of years ago. We watched him enter and his exposed legs were the first thing we saw coming through the door! Didn't recognise him till he sat down near us. Mrs Mep had her photo taken with him and I had to crop her out before sharing.

I wonder if he was at the illegal rave held at the airfield on Davidstowe moor over the jubilee weekend, reliving those hippie memories?

Great song. We used to do the Muse version, which was a blast to play and went down well.

I'm quite a Hawkwind fan and have read a few Michael Moorcock books. When Chronicles came out we were well into it. Some great songs and well produced . H L-L guitar was outstanding. At the time our band partly modelled ourselves on Hawkwind and Needle Gun and Moonglum were in our set, along with some other HW songs. Unfortunately we had a poor female singer at the time and after seeing a video of a gig we realised it wasn't working with her and we packed it in. The guitarist and I moved on with an original project.
I have fond memories of my late teens and early twenties listening to to Hawkwind and reading MM books. I live on Devon and Hawkwind were regularly playing some minor festival nearby, so got the chance to see them love indoors and our quite a few times.

…I’ll give that one a miss then.
Indeed, that would be a stain on your reputation!

One of my musical lightbulb moments was at secondary school studying for GSE music around 1980. One aspect was to listen to different musical styles. One of the albums was Dark Side of the Moon. I've been a massive Floyd fan ever since.
