I tried using those before (on KiOgon's Jazz harness a while back), wasn't happy as the knob becomes eccentric and it made my head hurt!! (OCD-ish).

I'll ask KiOgon. Thanks for tips.

If you use the wrong knobs, for 1/4" shafts - yes they will go eccentric - but if you use the proper knobs for 6mm shafts the alignment of the screw with the split makes them fit concentric and tight.

  2. Agree with @JohnDaBass above, I have the DP127W in my AVRI '57 P, with GHS Precision flats, have always loved the dynamics, tone range and clarity, wired in series as standard. Never too 'boomy or bassy' ๐Ÿ˜ƒ plenty of top end, TBH never tried it in parallel.

  3. Definitely not normal, idealy - do you have another pair of pickups you can try?

    ย

If you can inspect the external solder joints where the pickup wires are and the wires are in tact, the probability is that the coil windings have for some reason been broken/damaged or detached from the solder tags inside.

  4. Sorry, late to the party!

Good advice above and as said the wiring looks OK. Many manufacturers don't or didn't bother with a earth wire to the jack when mounted on a metal control plate, but as Gary - I always do a hardwire earth to every component, it only takes one to become loose and you can loose the continuity.

Testing everything with a multimeter should find the problem/s.

    Good luck ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. It's not because they're 'Mini' so much as they're cheaper than chips, in fact potato pots might be better. Penny pinching on electrics by most manufacturers is what lets many basses/guitars down, poxy pots, jacks made out ofย  putty and soldering by '3 year olds', you'd think! Japanese Fenders included.

    ย

I've been using Bourns mini pots for a good few years now in most of my replacement looms and they are as good quality and as well made as the benchmark CTS.

  6. Alex has had a couple of Jaguar looms, apart from Royal Mail not doing what they're paid for ๐Ÿ˜’ all is well.

Perfect transactions as always with a great basschatter, pleasure to deal with.
