  1. hey guys, im looking for some help ive got an ibanez edb605 which i bought in 2003, and when i was adjusting the neck last night, i found that the nut at the end of the truss has rounded off/stripped, so none of my allen keys are able to get any grip, and as such i cant adjust the neck. does anyone know if i can easily replace this nut? and if so where would i be able to get one suitable? cheers guys

  3. thanks for the replies guys, i shoulda made it slightly clearer. im not at this stage looking to do it as a form of career, more as a side step to my normal stuff, more for small scale solo artists than professional outfits if that makes sense. all of your advice is appreciated... i best brush up on reading music
  4. hey guys, a question for all the session musicians out there. im looking to get into some session work. i love doing what i do band wise but id like to spread my musical wings and play some other styles. i dont know where to start with doing session work with people. is it as simple as offering yourself on multiple forums etc, or is there like a good forum specifically for musicians to meet? any advice would be appreciated cheers

  6. i havent forgotten a song, but sometimes ive forgotten what note im going to next, usually i just hide it with a slide or something
  7. i try to keep mine looking as perfect as possible, but the harsh reality is, like driving a new car, dings and dents will occur when you are using it for gigs. to an extent they do add character and a history to the guitar, but i try to avoid it if i can

  11. hey guys looking for some help. when i record guitars into my pc, i tend to use cab impulses to get a warmer and more realistic sound. do you guys know where i may be able to find bass impulses so that i can do the same thing for my bass? cheers
  12. i have the bass set to a flat sound and then adjust the amp accordingly
  13. if you play funk id say the music man if you want something thats more solid and will play a variety id got for the squier the squiers are good for the money

  16. just a quick question. do most music shops do finance deals on high expense gear like amps and guitars and stuff? im buying a big rig and wanna try and get it on finance. i know its probably depending on the shop, but what are other peoples experiences of shops and expensive gear?
  17. ive used cubase for years, it can be a pain in the arse at times when it dont want to work, but in general it does everything you need it to do. altho for a beginnner something like audition is good as cubase can be an arse till you have used it a while
  18. riffworks is handy if you only plan to do the musical equivalent of a scribbled sketch it makes throwing ideas down really easy ive found
  19. ive always found its easier for me to sing and play when i write the song and learn the bassline and vocal melody together, and then just keep practicing to get it tight doing it with complex basslines is hard tho
  20. hey guys, im after some advice im looking to get some new rig over the next few months and its gonna be expensive. im considering getting it insured against theft and breakage etc. some of my current stuff is insured under the house insurance, but obviously it dont stay in the house. im sure there is some kind of instrument insurance, just wondering if anyone knows any companies or has it themselves that can point me in the right direction. any help would be appreciated
