  1. These are appearing all over the place now : Bass DIrect, Wunjo, Guitar Village. It will be interesting to see what the take-up is like on them.
  2. Like I said, weird take! The body being that bit smaller than a 4003, the neck being a bit thicker - maybe it was just the one I tried. Definitely didnt SOUND like a Warwick thats for sure. I love Warwicks... when other people are playing them!
  3. I tried a few 4004's and they felt like a weird take on a Warwick bass to me. Sounds weird but there you go lol, each to their own!
  4. £3300 is the sticking point here. Im sure they are absolutely fine basses and great to play, but you can get an arguably better Ric like a new 4003 (or just about any other manufacturer come to think of it) for this sort of money, or even far LESS money. The old 2030 shorty they did before was designed to be a cost-effective alternative to the 4003 for shorty enthusiasts, as was the 3001 before it. Im not sure what the target market here is at this price... at least charge the same as the 4003 (or better still the 4003S), considering its almost exactly the same dimensionally just with different pickups and machineheads? The 4003S is c.£2700, what makes this £600 more? I was very interested in picking one up at a 4003S kinda price point but at this figure its a very easy "nope".
  5. Most are Ric-stamped and openfaced, these are muuuch smaller
  6. The more I think about the RRP of these, the more it baffles me. So on the Bass Direct site you can get a 4003S which is presumably exactly the same body, in a "special" colour for £2699. Or you can pay £600 (!!!) more for pretty much exactly the same instrument parts-wise, just with Schaller machine heads and different higain pickups. Err.... wut?
  7. The Racing Green one is here - https://guitarvillage.co.uk/product/rickenbacker-special-edition-4030s-midnight-green?srsltid=AfmBOopGdbrVX69juLk_DOxLfG9pLe3pn7CnMNTTPFdPx14juPqwSXDi No image yet but its the £3499 tag I was told about as its limited to 25 pieces in that finish.
  8. I think its difficult to compare the 4005XC's with these basses other than the scale length. The 4005XC's were a special run for the 90th Anniversary of the company as you say so limited in production, not sure if these will be - im told the green ones are only a run of 25 like the British Racing Green 4003's a while back, but no confirmation on the "standard" colours being a limited run. The XC's are hollow-body which makes construction that little bit trickier, hence the list price of the standard 4005's too. The XC's are bound (very nicely I might add) and also have the stereo circuit. They are also naturally bigger because of that big 360 style body shape... and finally they come with the Ric silver "vintage" deluxe case rather than the standard black plastic one. It will be interesting to see how they take off if at all - and dont give up on Rics, theres loads out there second hand usually at decent-ish prices (although not many shorties out there admittedly...)
  9. Ive had it on very good authority that these are going to have an RRP of between £3499 and £3799 due to Rosetti putting their prices up. For that reason I am very much out, thats an insane price for these "S" version basses which presumably wont have the stereo circuit or binding like their "standard" counterparts
  10. Hey bud, does that octaver do hi and lows?
  11. Oops, didnt see the other post putting it back up again... sorry!
  12. Absolutely classic and glorious in every possible way
  13. You might want to update the price on the main listing itself - it appears you dropped it to £2800 but that isnt reflected at the top of this page (and therefore may put people off, possibly?)
  14. Oh wow Must... resis...ttt.....
  15. One more bump i think then might have to go to the dreaded 'Bay Doesnt seem like wah's are the flavour of 2025
  16. bumpy-bumpy-bumpy sexy-bumpy-bumpy bumpy-bumpy let me know (to the tune of Da Ya Think Im Sexy? by Mr Rodney Stewart)
  17. Ill also consider any trades for "interesting" other pedals, come to think of it...
  18. Sold my Warwick Gigboard/Rockbag to PM - had a proper nice chat as well when he popped over - top man, buy/sell with confidence i say!
  19. Cheers Del (belated by 4 years!) and PM
  20. The pedal looks like its got dandruff on it in the pictures for some reason, it really hasnt though.
  21. I dont really use this anymore so its up for sale after me having it for quite a few years. Its a very solidly built (as you expect from EHX, tank-like construction) wah. Its an interesting design for a wah as it has no moving parts, all controlled by being on a flat floor - although I believe you can buy a "cradle" for it to sit in as well if you prefer a more traditional set-up. It also has a fuzz circuit in it so you can do a pretty decent Cliff Burton impression with it all in one pedal! I probably gigged it about 5 times so its in very good nick. Discontinued now I think, last PMT price was £82 so ive gone for half that. Happy to post / courier but at buyer's expense, I can work from home so arranging pickup etc should be simple. @Dood the mod knows where I live so buy in confidence, haha!
  22. Time to thin out some of my gear, first thing on the list is this Warwick Gigboard 23100. Its a pedalboard but with a PSU in it which is nice. Comes with the (slighty tatty now) manual still, bag with all zips etc intact, plus all the power cables that came with it and the mains lead itself. I have some of the velcro for pedals still and thats in the bag as well. Its in very good nick because i barely used it.... largely because I barely use effects, ho-hum. Dimension etc are all online, this would be a great choice for someone who wants a self contained all-in-one solution for pedals. Happy to post / courier but at buyer's cost - I can work from home most days to make pickups etc very simple! @Dood the mod knows where I live, so buy in confidence 😛
  23. Had I not made a significant recent purchase id be seriously "in" on this... this is the quintessential P, classic looks and classic sound... arghhh
  24. Is it £150 or £350? If its the former it wont last long here... I love mine
