3.
What's your location?
Swansea
4. Pic of the scratch plate on the bass (not screwed down)
5. The scratchplate is back from peavey all nice and shiny with the residue removed, I'll post some pics later
6. Sorry for the delay but here are the new pics
7.
Just released in English and prob the best guide to setting your bass up- http://www.jerzydrozdbasses.com/
Had mine, worthwhile for the radius templates alone. I've two basses to set up so the timing couldn't be better.
8. My singer's girlfriend is looking to downsize from her TNT 1x15 to something she can lift! I'm not sure of secific model but it seems to be around the 120w mark, may be the 150w @ 4ohm 200w at 2ohm. I'll add more details and some pics when they come through.
9.
Just bought a Fender Jazz Deluxe 5 String
Me too, mine also needs new strings but the setup's really good otherwise.
10.
That's right. Volume is just cut.
Thought so, thanks for replying. It's my first active so in uncharted waters a bit. So is the general idea to balance boosting and cutting to get roughly the same overall level as flat or just season to taste and tweak the amp's gain to match?
11. I've picked up a MUM active deluxe Jazz V secondhand and wanted to double check I understand the controls. As I understand it I've got: Vol Blend Stacked Bass and Treble (cut boost) Mid (cut boost) Is it just the tone controls which are active, ie with everything flat is the output comparable to a passive setup or is the volume control active too? Thanks
12. Definitely up for sale now £120. I'll post some new pics tonight. The tort guard has gone back to peavey as there was a residue/tacky film left after the cellophane was removed which I couldn't get off with a mild solvent, they may sort it or send on a replacement but as it stands it just has the original flat black guard. I can also offer a decent but a bit battered in places ritter gigbag or a less substantial but newer black one for £10. P&P will be £4.99. It's just been restrung with medium roundwounds and I'll also throw in a new spare set. Also worth mentioning is the bass is light, so if you're after a light P or PJ alternative would be well worth considering. Edit: The neck is very jazz like, 1.5in at the nut with a relatively deep C profile
13. There's quite a few discussions on the tele website tdpri.com
14.
£15 the pair bump
PM'd
15.
(Kind of half looking for one at the moment)
I'm selling one
What notes did you have each one set for?
I had it set as their recommended method, bottom half of this page, if I was doing it again I'd probably have it to concert pitch with all the levers down and then have semitone steps down ie E Eb D etc.
16. Just uploading some new pics with the stock bridge refitted, should be on the link above shortly
17. Here's the gear
18. The hipshot bridge is for sale seperately, the original 3 brass saddle ashtray one will be replaced and a new set of 11s fitted. The hipshot is completely retro fit so once the original bridge is back on it'll be stock and completely unmodded or damaged in any way. I'll change the bridges over later and update the photo album but in the mean time here some nice pics of a stock one
19. This is definately up for sale, I've just been doing some price checking and the cheapest online price is about £430 so I've dropped the price from £375 to £350 which seems a bit more realistic
20. Bought a squier VM fretless jazz from Steve, very hospitable, bass exactly as described, excellent price and he even had a case to go with it for super cheap. Thanks again
21. I'm picking up one from bigmac tomorrow morning, my appetite is even more whetted now.
22. Having searched the section I know Jon Caulfield gets a lots of positive comments but Cardiff would be a 100ml round trip. Can anyone recommend a teacher in the Swansea area? I work in Carmarthen so someone further west could work too weekday evenings. If you search here under the postcode SA2 it should bring up the options. The short list so far based on their RGT entries: Pay Parton Michael-Wayne Nicholas Graham Wyatt Terry John Curran Dave Crawford Thanks
23. I resigned from my guitar playing gig last night to concentrate on bass so I might be selling my Classic Player Baja Telecaster, if I can't get a decent price for I'll hang onto it. Fender specs here, it's the more desirable blond with black scratchplate. It's in mint condition never really getting a look in playing wise due to my Les Paul being my main six string squeeze, the only issue is the pickguard is the old 5 hole type and has warped and lifted a little on the top edge. Common issue and easily remedied by fitting a modern guard with extra screws or i was considering a flat black aluminum one. Looking at completed listings on ebay around £350 seems the going rate with gigbag, I'd take £350 for it inc case and shipping. If anyone's interested I'll post some pics.
