4. Bit like a d-tuner but with three pre-set pitches on each of the six strings. It's on my tele but not really getting any use so I'm putting the original bridge back on next string change, I could be prepared to sell it if anyone makes me a decent offer. The hipshot website seems to be playing up but here are the details on stewmac Mine was a custom order with the baseplate in chrome and the mechanism in the usual flat black. A standard one would be £150 or £100 from the states plus shipping, duty etc. Mine has had minimal use and is in very good, perfect working condition so I'd let it go for £100 or thereabout. Pics Or if anyone has anything interesting to swap?
5. If you're prepared to split them i'd be very interested in the head and could arrange a courier pickup at my cost.
6. Now up on eBay

10. Has the head gone and if not would you be willing to ship? Thanks
11. I've just heard back from the tech. Apologies if I get this wrong in the retelling: It's blown the output transistor(s) and some other transistors too, I'd be looking at £120-150 to sort it and he's not too confident that there isn't an underlying problem which might go again. Also it seems it had been modded with a variable speed on the fan (apparently for studio use) so that may have been contributory. My home made speaker lead also is under suspicion (whoops). So I think repair isn't an option. So far I'm out £30 on the inspection but he has offered me £50 for it as parts, is that reasonable or should I take it back and look to sell it on spares or repair for a bit more?
12. So may stupidly cheap Trace head lasted all of half a song at it's first rehersal. Without warning it just cut out, power and sound. Prior to this it had sounded fine both at the rehersal and at low levels in the house. The sound didn't deteriorate prior to the cutout. However even with a very quiet drummer I had the master on 9 through a 4 x 10 and I wouldn't have expected to need to be over 5 based on trace's reputation for understimating wattage. I thought £60 was too good to be true but does anyone have any similar experiences or suggestions to the cause? It's in with the local PA/audio repair guy for a look over, how much would be reasonable to spend on the repair and at what point should i cut my losses cost wise? Thanks in advance
13. I'm putting it up on eBay unless anyone would like to make me an offer
14.
What's the width at the nut please?
It sold on eBay yesterday sorry
15. I'll swap for a practice amp bump. Aux in and headphone please, otherwise I'm not too fussy.
16. Possibly not one basschat but someone might be a closet folky? This is a chinese made Irish bazouki, very similar and probably made in the same factory as Trinity College, Ozark, Hudson, Ashbury etc. It's identical bar headstock design to a Hudson I played recently. These are much better made and much more playable than the cheap European made Ozarks and Bravehearts. More pics It's in very good condition with no dents, dings or scratches. The only issue was the bridge was too low which I've shimmed with a matching piece of rosewood only noticeably on close inspection. The action is now medium low and could be lowered further. Specs: Solid Spruce top, laminate stained maple back and sides Maple neck Individual enclosed die-cast machines Pressed tail piece Floating bridge Adjustable trussrod It will come with a tribal planet gigbag, one of the higher quality ones with denser 10mm padding and heavier outer. Shubb bazouki/tenor banjo capo Learn To Play The Irish Bouzouki DVD by Zan McLeod I will post, cost TBA. I'll post for free if anyone offers me the full £195

18. Up for sale my first bass, a pretty beat up Jazz bass copy by Gould. Pretty standard cheaper Jazz copy, seems a step or two up from your Johnny Brooks and whatnot. Made with decent looking wood with a light gloss lacquer to the neck. Previous googling put it in the £150 range new. It's previous owner seems to have had a bit of a Townsend moment with the bottom corner/strap button area and there are quite a few chips, dents and scratches around the body's edge. The electrics and tuners are all working fine except there's a drop in volume when both pickup's volumes are all the way up, I'm not sure why but I did replace the pots with a pre-wired assembly and it's still doing it. Would suit as a backup or a the basis of a project. I'm in Swansea and would be open to having it collected but will also happily pack and post for an additional £10. 20. Peavey Zodiac BXP Thanks Earbrass, smooth transaction, exactly as described, good price and reasonable P&P would recommend as a seller. Cheers
21. Thanks for that, I'm not seriously considering it just wondered what the outcome would be.
22. Quick question and apologies if this has been covered before but a search didn't come up with anything useful. Roughly what does a P/J pickup setup sound like wired in series?
