1. I've got a red cv precision , they're lovely , well worth getting
 2.
Aha! I'm normally pretty good at reading threads before I reply to them, but I'd missed your comment on finding them substantially different. I wasn't trying to contradict you, and I don't think you took it the wrong way anyway, but I've seen wars start over on TalkBass for less! I checked and the Rotosounds I tried were 45-105s, and I can definitely say that both the FS and FL sets feel much easier to play than they did. To be fair, though, my playing style is pretty agricultural and I'm not particularly discerning! Let us know how you get on. It's not a particularly cheap experiment at the best part of 40 quid a pop, so I hope you like them!
Yep , no worries , I'll do that It'll be after Christmas now as we're in the process of moving house
 3. Thanks everybody , for all info and opinions , good stuff as usual seeing as Ive decided to restring 2 basses - 1 TB and 1 TL I'll try them both …..
 4.
I've got 760FL gauge La Bellas on my precision (top loading bridge) and they're great tension. I'd normally go for 105-45 in round wounds, and the 760FLs are 104-43 i think. They don't feel as stiff or heavy as i'd been led to believe (i.e. you can still string bend on them pretty easily) so you'd probably be ok with a slightly heavier gauge.
Thanks bb , am I right in assuming that the L in 760FL stands for Long ( scale ) ?
 5.
I've just been corrected by a pal - you can! Apologies for the duff info :-) See here... 6. I'm going to try Labella flats for the first time and just wondering which set are top load and which set are through-body ? I've got Chromes on one of my Basses so I'll be looking for the same or closest to their gauge ( 50-105 ) though not the Jamerson set , I've tried the Steve Harris set and they're just to much for my dainty little pinkies They're for a Precision but I've not decided whether to go TL or TB …
 7. Mike bought my Dearmond Starfire - lovely guy , smooth transaction , likes Jackson Browne and a bit of modern art What more could you ask for ? Cheers Bud

 10. Excellent condition , prefer collection but will post at buyers cost . I had it for sale on FB and locally and thought I had a sale , took it off , said it was Sold and then …no sale ….Anyway that'll teach me to jump the gun . Its from the mid/late90s I think , it really is in superb nick , very little wear and no tear . Short Scale , US humbuckers , semi hollow , beautiful Sunburst and Kinsman hard case . The only trade I'll consider is for a US P Bass - Sunburst ,Tort , Rosewood , preferably 2012 onwards . 12.
Hello all, It's my 30th coming up and I'll be in L.A in september and you can pick out parts for a bass at the Visitor Centre in Corona, then they make it up and ship it out to you. I would like to do that for a birthday present, but I was just wondering if anyone here has been or even actually done it and got a bass from there. Here's a link where you an design your bass; http://www2.fender.com/american-design Cheers.
If thats what you want to do mate , go right ahead .
 13.
Great you sell it??
Sorry mate , unless you're prepared to give me £5000 I'll be keeping it ...
 14.
Very nice. You couldn't have fitted a couple more pickups in there then? ;-)
It crossed my mind !
 15. Pics aren't too good I did have a 51 P in the neck position at first , but I wanted some Jack Bruce / Andy Fraser type oomph to call on , hence the Humbucker . I had a Gibson SG Bass , but I love the Precision shape .
