1.
very unusual that the newer sadowsky presented with neck stability issues. I have played this bass and I am sure whoever gets this one will be happy with their purchase. Remember the customer service offered by Sadowsky is simply the best and this adds value to the instrument. I had my neck reshape completed with little fuss and to my specifications. It is overall the best bass i have ever played and a keeper.
Well, to be fair I play with a very low action (like 1,2mm at 21 fret on G string), so I perceive very little movements. With my basses I need adjust the truss rod two times a year, with that one maybe six, and was the easiest bass to adjust I had. The Sadowsky is SOLD. Thanks for the kind comments, BUMP!!!
 2.
+1 regarding the neck depth. After playing this Sadowsky when Paulie had it I ordered an NYC assuming the neck profile would be similar but had to send it back for a reshape as the newer Sadowsky's have a deeper neck profile. However unlike the earlier models, The newer Sadowskys have 2 graphite strips running through the neck which offer greater stability and together with a chunkier headstock, help to eliminate dead spots. I find the modern Sadowsky super resonant and for me the VTC increases the tonal pallet and is a good addition.
This one I think it have some kind of reinforcement on the neck, it's very rigid. I bought a new Sadowsky too, before this one, and I had troubles with neck stability. Sounding wise I like more this one, but I didn't notice in the new one that I sold that the edges of the bass were too accented. My right arm suffer with this kind of basses, I'm more comfortable with an old trust jazz bass...
 3. Thanks molan and paulie for the kind comments! The Sadoswky is on HOLD
 4. Thanks for the kind comments! I've been using these two basses a lot the last two or three years, and they have very high level competitors, like a 65' jazz bass and a Fodera Emperor. They are not inferior in sound or playability (for me), in fact, the Sadowsky recorded better than the jazz bass while I was recording for a blues guitarist. I'm selling both exclusively due to ergonomics issues, the Tobias for the smallish body, and the Sadowsky for too much angle on the wood were I support the right arm. It's easily modificable, but it needs a refinish of all the body, and would be a desperate desition. I've been searching some sound clips on my computer. They are not very good, though... TOBIAS: Playing reagge, the same song, same band, same EQ, first on my Markbass 121, second sound from the sound desk, it's a little low on volume, my amp was very high!! http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11536146&q=hi&newref=1 http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11536133&q=hi&newref=1 Fingerstyle , both pickups, EQ flat: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10596942&q=hi&newref=1 Tapping, both pickups, some reverb: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10596943&q=hi&newref=1 Bridge pickup, some Bass and Mids Boost, some treble rolled off, on the Portrait some reverb: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10596941&q=hi&newref=1 SADOWSKY: With EMG pickups: Both pickups, EQ flat: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11804743&q=hi&newref=1 The same with some Bass and Treble boost: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11804745&q=hi&newref=1 Tapping, both pickups, some reverb, EQ flat: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11804748&q=hi&newref=1 With Norstrand Pickups, bridge pickup, some bass and VTC rolled a bit, through a Minimark bass combo, little solo at 2:45 http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11804734&q=hi&newref=1

 7.
This is interesting... May I ask why do you want to trade for such a similar bass? I had been looking at the Marleaux myself and am curious to see what is not convincing for you... In my mind this and the Vinny are equivalent... Cheers
Hi! Well, I wanted a headless bass for small gigs, teach and rehearsal. I was between the Vinny and this one, and finally decided for the Marleaux cause I like more a wood neck, generally. I like this bass, but you know, the GAS is everytime saying you that another bass is better than the one that you already have... Really, I don't know if I preffer the Vinny over this one, cause I never played one. If someone have interest in this trade, I can try it. If not, I will keep the Marleaux unless I need the money.
 8. Hi! I want to trade a Marleaux Betra 4 strings for a Zon Vinny VB4. I know it's very difficult such a specific trade, but I must try it, is free... Other trade options: Fender Jazz Bass Roadworn , Custom shop, or any jazz bass with 60' pickup spacing, and not too heavey. Can be fretless. For sale for 1900 € shipping included. Well, this bass is a Marleaux Betra 4 strings. It was ordered trough Doctorbass.net, and I paid 2900€ for it. Has a swetenia body (a lightweight type of Mahogany), maple top, three pieces maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, two Bartolini split coils, 3 band EQ with pasive tone, push-pull active pasive knob. The upper part of the body is slighty bigger, to get a similar position of the right arm to a more conventional bass (jazz bass). The width at nut is 38mm, it have schaller straplocks and it only weighs 3,0 kg! The lightest bass I ever seen. It comes with a good Fender guitar gig bag. 9. Hi! Sadowsky NYC: SOLD I want to sell this great bass. It sounds very well, and can be adjusted with very low action. I have it for more than two years (it's a lot for me), but I want to sell it cause I can't play comfortably, I have tendonitis troubles and it's better only play basses with exact dimensions (at least for me). Tobias 4 strings:SOLD This bass is a one of a kind. I bought it two years ago to the basschater leloupa. He told me that this bass was a prototype made by Michael Tobias himself when he sold Tobias to Gibson. It seems the new Toby basses. The body was left in the workshop, and then Tobias attached a new neck and sold it. It have two or three different serial numbers, around 3000... Well, the fact is that the bass sounds very good, I love it but I can't play it cause I can't acomodate to it's shape. The body is from Ash, maple top, maple-bubinga neck, and Pao Ferro fingerboard. Pickups are 90' bartolini single coils, and the pre was changed to a Marleaux 3 band with active-pasive switch. The with at nut is 38mm, and weights 4,0kg. It come with Schaller straplocks. SOLD

 13.
Nice Bass Amigo and there's nowt wrong with your English, so much better than my. Good luck
Thank you! But you don't know how much time I need for write something!!! At least, my GAS helped me to read and write much better in english. But speaking I'm very bad....
 14.
Nice, quite rare to see a Monarch in this colour combination and with JJ pickups
Yes, now Fodera don't do this finish anymore... I like it a lot, it's a more traditional looking and sounding Fodera, but play as smooth as any other, and it's pretty versatile as well. The Elite construction allows little height from the body to the fingerboard, like a jazz bass with the pickguard on, and for me it's very comfortable to slap... Is the perfect complement to my Alder-rosewood emperor, but I can't afford owning both...
