1. Hi! I'm selling this Jaco Pastorius Tribute Jazz Bass It's the best fretless that I played. Is light at 3,9kg, and plays smooth with a very low action if you want. It have very little use, never gigged, only ocasional playing at home and studio. The fretboard have no marks (the same than an instrument some years in a shop...) It's strung with a fresh set of Sadowsky nickel 40-100. The bass it's made in 2005, but I bought it new six months ago. It's very hard to me sell this, but I don't play it enough to keep it (and I need the money to pay my music studies). I can make more pics if there's interest. Here's a little demo recorded with this bass. I'm only using the bridge pickup, at the intro with little reverb and chorus, then only compressed. It's Ayer te vi, the second clip. http://www.soundclick.com/popibass SOLD!!!
2.
100% original apart from the bits that aren't. Can't argue with that...
Ok, you're right in part. I will edit the topic. But the only things that I don't know if are original are: The brass nut (and only cause I don't know if in 1973 fender made basses with brass nut) The frets, cause are like new, but there's no mark on the fretboard that I can see to say that it's refretted.
3. Hi! Here's for sale my 1973 Precision Bass. The bass plays and sounds amazing, and only weights 3,8kg. The neck is straight, and the truss rod works fine. The frets seems to be original, and are like new. The only thing that maybe it's not original is the brass nut, but I'm not sure. The witdh at nut is 40mm, and the neck is thin and comfortable (similar to a jazz neck) It comes with the pup and bridge covers, thumbrest and original hardshell case. SOLD Thanks!
4.
Have a BIG BUMP from a proud M5V owner! these are beautiful basses and this is a bargain imho! cheers!
It's a good bass in excellent shape, and I think at a very good price. Thanks for the comments!!!! Sold!!!!!!!!!!
5.
Lovely bass Is the string spacing at the nut similar to a Fender Jazz?
The string spacing and width at nut it's exact the same than a 60' jazz bass, but the neck it's a little bit flatter.
6. Thanks for the comments! Indeed it's a very good bass, with a quality similar to a Sadowsky, and the neck it's very stable (more than a Sadowsky NYC that I have). Bump!!!!
7. Hi! Up for sale this Mike Lull M4V, bought at NAMM 2009. Specs: # Alder chambered body # Graphite reinforced Maple neck # Rosewood fingerboard # Contoured Neck Heal # 34" Scale length # 21 frets # 12" radius fingerboard # 1 -1/2" nut width # Bone nut # Chrome hardware # Hipshot Ultralite tuners # Vintage style pick-guard & control plate # Aguilar Active tone circuit # Lindy Fralin single coil pickups # Aluminum bridge The bass have a nice and fast neck, and the action is as low as you want, cause the frets were levelled with the PLEK. The bass only weights 3,5kg (7,7lb), and it balances perfectly. The controls are: Volume, Pickup Pan, Pasive Tone push pull active-passive, Stacked Treble-Bass, boost only. The bass sounds and play very well, I only have too much basses and don't play this one enough. It sounds sweeter than a Sadowsky, and the bridge pickup alone sounds very "Jaco". It will comes with a Fender hard case. Sold!! Apologizes for my bad english...
8.
? Am I really wrong? I think you should be glad at the very best to get your money back on anything you buy these days. What are your options if you do not sell on here? Ebay!! How much would it go for on there?? Ok it's not on there so it's not really a valid point, but all the same. I think it's a great Bass and its a good price but seeing that I knew I had seen it before and found the thread, it annoyed me a little.. I still think shipping is a deductable irrelevant cost. But......... I apologise to Mr Cheese if I am wrong and I am sure whoever buys it will be over the moon. As I say the build quality and time Pete puts into these is amazing. Good luck with your sale.
Hi. The USA seller and I agree that I would sell the bass here to recover the money, since it was complicated to return it. You can talk with him to confirm. I paid near 1750€ for this bass in total, and I put the original price in 1800€. There's a lot of basses that people buy like a bargain and then they sell them at the market price. Then, the seller and I accorded that he refunds me 150$ for the big mistake he did. This via paypal at the change of two months ago are 95€ in my account. When I received the money, I raised the price. I think the next time you can contact me before by pm, and then post what you want here. Now it's more difficult for me sell a bass that I can't play for the mistake of a seller. Thanks to the other comments, and have a happy new year.
9. The price is what I paid. 1800$ + 150$ of shipping: 1950$ 1950/1,4= 1392€+ 19% (VAT+tax)= 1657€ aprox Plus 30€ more from take it from customs in my car (130km from my home). I never played this bass, cause at the first moment when it arrive I saw that are 35" long. You can send a message to the talkbass seller, he can tell you the history. He told me three times that the bass have 34" scale. For me it's enough loose 200€ or more and wait a long time for the mistake of other. And I would have returned the bass, but I would have lost the money of the vat + tax (more than 250€). This is not a business for me.
10.
I mean that very few cabs are going to take 800W of bass/lows. Plus you need a pretty beefy amp to push that kind of power. Sorry mate, the "bullshit" part wasn't aimed at you or anyone in particular
Don't worry, I don't understand english perfect, so... I think the Barefaced Vintage will take this power, or nearly.
11.
Leaves me wondering just how much bass you need in reggae, I very much doubt you will be pushing anywhere near 600W of "bass" Also wondering how many people bullshit how much volume they "need"? My old band played painfully loud using just my homebuilt 2x10 rig (eminence beta), bits and pieces connected together for the singers PA and a H&K Warp7 with 4x12 cab...
It's a little difficult to me to express what I want to say, I'm spanish... Maybe I said "bass" instead of lows. What I'm trying to say is that a cab like a Schroeder 1212 (I have one) claims that can take 800W RMS, and with a flat EQ and a passive bass maybe can take 500W without fart. I have a Barefaced Compact, wich says that can take 450W, and I push it with 450W and EQ with some lows without any farting. I don't know if now it's more clear... And about loudness, I play a lot of reggae outdoor gigs with PA only for vocals. For a low bass sound is necessary a lot more power than for a midrangey sound without real lows (and maybe this is better for cut in a dense mix). I really don't understand "bullshit" but it seems that is not a good thing...
12. For me this information it's very useful. If I try a Markbass CL104 (4x10 sealed cab) in a shop, I can't really know how much loud can be in a gig. With this information, it's posible compare with another that you knows well. For exemple, if tried in a gig a Markbass 104HF, and I know how much air can move, I can compare it with the CL104 for know how loud can be in a gig. This thoughts are real, I wanted a CL104 but I'm afraid that isn't capable of go enough loud fo me. The tone I like very much, but I doubt it will take 600W of reggae bass sound...
13. I'm grateful this information, 'cause I don't find useful the information that cab builders give for know the real volume of a cab. A Schroeder 1212 it's rated a 800W RMS. If I play reggae, can I EQ my bass very low and push the cab with a 800W head at max volume without break nothing? I'm shure that it's impossible that the cab resist this. I think it's a very good way to know how much loud could go a cab, especially in the lows, not for know how it sounds.
14. I think the Compact would be enough loud with more watts. With 500w @ 8 Ohms would be very very loud. I have one and I can push it with a Thunderfunk 750A at max volume without farting...
