1.
Did you read the small print on the Mansons website that says that ex-demo SVT comes without any valves?
ha ha very good, I did look round the back to check!!
2. I vaguely remember a bass player wanted ad on here recently that specifically required an SVT and 810 for "quick get ins and outs" and no "pussy modern micro heads" reckon Im in with a shout now...
3.
anyone else wondering what of this will end up in the for sale forum under wife pressure?
lol, well apparently I shouldn't run an 8 ohm cab with it, so now I have to sell the 8 ohm warwick 411 and get a 4ohm cab or another 8 ohm (just sold an 8 ohm 115)
4. oh F**k, just pulled the online trigger thanks to you lot! 0% finance over 9 months mind......not even drunk yet!!!
5.
It'll be hell getting it from the shop to the car remember. Afterall, there are no car parks near Mansons...just saying. And it's double yellows all the way down that street, and then there are the buses...they're not fussy about clipping an inappropriately parked car...
shhhhhhhhhhhhhh FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6.
Well done! Ah... sorry, I didn't help at all there, did I..?
nope made me paranoid about "my" amp getting half inched under me nose!
7.
Before you buy it, just try lifting it. How close to Manson's can you park?
not much more than your selmer treble n bass, had one myself!
8. right im on the dog and bone 10am on Tuesday, you are not havin' it!
9. ive tried lifting it and its lighter than my SWR working Pro 700 in a flight case...groan.................... and if you're lucky , you can park right outside this particular shop
10. so Ive seen a pretty mint used Ampeg SVT classic head reduced to £699 at a very well know music shop here in the south west, and now i have an almost crack addled sense of gas, always wanted one, can't afford it really, wife will divorce me, but damn...........
11. set mine to all dials 12 o'clock and leave it alone, maybe 1 o'clock on the input, always on except for very quiet bits, good piece of kit but really too big for my pedalboard.
12. Hi all just wanted to say that after splashing out only 30 quid on these rather excellent IEM's and asking a couple of stupid questions about them, the guys at RHA got straight back to me via email explaining stuff with pictures etc, superb customer service from a British Firm! http://www.rha-audio.com/uk/
13. having looked into them in some detail before i got my lad a second hand kit he can fit in his bedroom! The general concensus on drum forums is that only Roland and Yamaha make kits good enough to actually gig. But what would i know, I play bass!
14. Thats very true, however we use "hard" IEM's, ie no battery packs but it does involve an extra cable to a belt pack. For 3 of us with the rack mounted 4 channel headphone amp, leads, belt packs and headphones it came to under £300 total. I'm sure its the bottom of the IEM quality table but they were still a marked improvement on the rubbish wedges we used to lug around, and would probably be improved again with a headphone upgrade. The ACS moulded ear protectors costs near that for one person so I still maintain its the way to go! http://www.thomann.de/gb/samson_sphone.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/fischer_amps_mini_bodypack_mit_lsregler.htm http://www.thomann.de/gb/superlux_hd_381.htm
15. being completely deaf in one ear, I used an ACS pro for a while as i was concerned obviously about my "good" ear. TBH i never liked them as i thought they cut out fat too much detail especially when gigging in front of the punters. Now however as we have gone over to IEM's I can get a great mix at a comfortable volume as they seal out any onstage racket whilst letting me hear what I want to hear, so for me ear protection is sorted as well as monitoring, can't really see the need for ear protectors as such TBH.
16. another tip BTW when you're looking for a beginning/middle/end is to work out each beginning, middle and end seperately and then have fun finding ways to join them together, also known as the bridge or middle 8's !!
17. for a fairly easy workflow that allows you to put down ideas quickly, I would recommend this, you can try it for free in demo mode and the full programme is only about £35, i think. http://www.tracktion.com/
18. enjoyed that, what a very erudite intelligent bunch of chaps!
19. just listened to this today on R4 about Frank Zappa, was great! http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b042jhlc
20. BTW that looks lovely! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-5-string-Bass-second-hand-/301171916204?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item461f3ebdac
21. once had a vintage gibson copy and it was pretty good considering it must have been 15 years old. Heard nothing but good things about the current range, some say they're even better value than the squier VM stuff so go for it
22. well dry is very "now" but i prefer a little reverb on our vocalist as it gives it some warmth, (keep backing vocals dry though)
23. just been changing the strings on my P and decided to put the ashtray back on, apart from looking purty, does anyone know what it's actually for? sustain? dunno!
