4. Just a heads up to say I've got my "My Bass and Other Animals" book by Guy Pratt on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=011 Trev
5. Overwater, I'm afraid they've been sold on ebay now. If that deal falls through, we'll talk again Trev
6. My first bass was a Kay SG-style bass from Woolworths. My mate Richard had come back from Portugal (his place of birth) and changed all the money his relatives had given him into pounds. He bought two basses and an amp from a music shop in Hounslow (no longer there). I was hooked on the bass. Two weeks later, he came round to my house while I was at school and took them away to sell (they were his after all). I was so heartbroken, that I went to John Kings Music in Kingston (also no longer there) and spent all of the £70 I'd been saving on an Antoria semi-acoustic bass that howled like a bastard. So began the trail of basses that I've owned which must stretch to 20 or so over the last 30 years. Trev
7. Hi guys, I thought I'd give you an early 'heads up' about me selling my two Ashdown 4x8's and my Ashdown Mag 600R Amp. The two cabs are 600w each and are the original design with the one-winged logo on the top left hand side. Both in good nick, one with it's own vinyl cover. The amp is rack-cased and is in great shape. It's 575w of power. They are heading towards evil-bay in the next few days, unless someone here wants first dibs. They're gigged but not abused. I'm after £250 for each cab and £250 for the amp too. Trev
8. Since I'm going to be moving to South Carolina in March 2008, I've put my 29 issues of BGM on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=011 I'm going to be putting both my Ashdown 4x8's on there soon and my rack-cased Ashdown Mag 600R, so watch out for them. That is unless someone here makes me a good offer ???
9. Guys, In the New Year I'm moving to the USA and am selling my 2 Ashdown Mag 4x8 cabs. Also selling my Mag 600R amp. My question is, should I sell the cabs together as a 1200w stack or as separate cabs ?? Also, what's the going rate for the cabs now ? They're the very first model with the one sided Ashdown wing detail off to the left hand corner of the cabs. Other than very few minor knicks/dings, in really good shape. One of them has it's own custom vinyl cover. Any help much appreciated. They're up for sale after my last gig on 28th December. Once they are, I'll start a thread in the 'for sale' section Trev
10. Just a few that bands I've been in have rejected.. The Sound Investment Couldn't Give a Funk The Pot-Belly Wrestlers Yaputya Lefleggin (as in the hokey cokey !!) Tuft Fell free to plunder at will
11. Those are three big Chicken Rotiserrie machines. I went last night (10th) to Wembley and they were stunning. Superb sound (loud) and the show was everything you'd expect. I even saw Chris (Status) but he was gone by too fast for me to say 'Hi'. Trev
12. We had Owen (Stereo Mc's) drumming with us for a while... Way back in the 80's, we had T'Pau support us at The Greyhound in Fulham Palace Road... I was in the Boys Brigade with Richard Drummie, guitarist with Go West.... I played a gig and used Shakataks PA..... Once had a long conversation with Chucho Merchán, at Ronnie Scotts, about bass playing and he offered to swap his hat for my Elites Strings "Put the Bass In" T-shirt.. and now one for the old farts..... My first bass cab was made from a 4x12 left at my house by Chas Cronk of the Strawbs. I think that's it
13. I'd ask Mark King a question... "What on earth made you think you could make that last Level 42 album in your home studio, it sounded awful and compressed to buggery" ?

19. I have to vote for the weird out of tune bassline that Alex James puts on verses of Parklife. It took me ages to convince the band that he really does play this slightly off key. Have a look on youtube annd see what I mean. Trev
20. I'm going to go with; Keith Wilkinson (Squeeze) John Deacon (Queen) Jon Davis (Gryphon)
