1. I haven't heard from the fellow who was interested so I will assume that has passed. It does have a hard case, yes. You can also have a two-bass gig bag that I want to get rid of too, if you like.
2. It has not yet sold, although I am waiting to hear back from someone about it just now. I'll post here as to whether it sells or remains available as soon as I know. The wheel of the second-hand bass market turns yet more slowly than that of justice!
3. I would rather shift this sooner than later. Therefore, I officially announce a special Basschat offer! £500! By special basschat offer, I mean that I can't be bothered to change the eBay price. I hope that this generates some interest, and look forward to hearing from you.
4. A polite bump. Offers considered. Thank you for looking.
5.
Lovely bass, I've been tempted by it on FEEBay on and off for quite a while. If somebody hit the BIN on FEEBay, and paid by PAINPal, as sellers MUST offer, the final sales fees would be £87.10 by my reckoning. Nice bass and good luck with the sale. Bump.
Yes, it is quite cheeky of FEEBay and PAINpal to charge what they do. More like CHEEK-eBay. Thank you for bringing those charges to the attention of myself and others: let only he who is without pity hit the BIN.
Including external links to ebay auctions is against forum rules, I believe. Nice bass though, I have a chaser myself
If so, oops, and my apologies go to those afflicted (if any). I am sure the moderators will let me know if it is a problem. I just wished to get it noticed.
I've got the prototype...lovely slim neck on these...GLWTS
That is something I forgot to say, so thank you for doing that for me. The things we forget over the years... I used never to shut up about the pleasure of slim necked basses! Perhaps that is why I am alone today.
6. Yes. The £7 I added on is, of course, a little joke. Haha. I am hilarious.
7. (Edit: Price reduced to £500. I also recently found the invoice on which the bass is described, and the original, quite faded receipts, too.) Dear all: I am selling my Zoot Iceni Chaser Bass, made by Mike Walsh in 2009. I haven't played bass for a couple of years now, and am going abroad for a year in a few months, so it is a good time to be getting rid of things I suppose. There used to be a little 'build diary' of it on here, but I suppose it was deleted, as are all my labours. It is on eBay at present. It isn't having much luck on there so I thought to try here. I would prefer cash on collection. Also, anyone is welcome to come and inspect it for themselves, without a commitment to buying, of course. As I cannot put the eBay link in this post with impunity, here is the description which I have there given (slightly abridged): This fine instrument was handmade for me in 2009 by Mike Walsh, and co., of Iceni Zoot, the Essex-based bespoke bass manufacturers. The company seems since to have shifted their focus to their Purple Chili bass cabinets, but you can find information on their basses and them in general here: http://www.purple-chili.com/ It is a passive bass; it has Seymour Duncan pickups—a Musicman humbucker at the bridge, and a jazz bass pickup closer to the neck for warmth—with volume controls for each pickup, a very responsive tone control, as well as a switch that changes the humbucker to singlecoil—all leading to the capacity for great variety of tone. It has a very warm tone, along with that important definition in the mid to low-mid range. Its warmth is added to by the Tomastik Infeld flatwound strings I currently have on it. You will see that it is composed of quite striking woods. I remember that the top is Canadian Quilted Maple, and the thin black wedge which separates it from the other maple is ebony. The fingerboard is a Birdseye rock maple. The stripes of brown running down the neck are another wood, but I cannot recall them now. The bridge allows either stringing through the body of the bass or the end of the bridge (what I believe they call 'top-loading'). The screw for the E string is quite mangled from one very naughty screwdriver. This would probably need replacing at some point if you wanted to mess around with the set up, intonation, etc. I couldn't capture it in the photos, so that photo is not there. But, from past experience, it is not so bad that it doesn't work in conjunction with a good screwdriver. It has had a number of dings, so please look at the photos carefully: one it received in transit when a tone knob came loose in the post to me (it used to have metal, telecaster-type tone knobs, since replaced with those from EBS's pedals); the worst ding in the front of the body is from when a vile fiend dropped his car keys on it; the remainder are from the wear and tear of gigs several times a week for a few years. The most important, I would say, from a practical point of view, is where the finish has come off the back of the neck (see photo). But I played this very happily for a long time with that little flaw, so why shouldn't you? I am selling this because I was prevented from playing the bass a few years ago when my carpal tunnel syndrome became too grievous not to affect my musical practice in a decidedly negative direction. Postage is expensive, awkward, and, when involving instruments, risky; therefore, I would vastly prefer cash on collection. This also allows you to come and see the bass, try it out, check that it's right for you, and so on. However, if you really cannot come to Harrogate to try it (I would offer to meet halfway but do not drive and have no friends), get in touch and perhaps we can sort something out. I can also include a hard case and/or a double bass gig bag—for free! It cost £849 new; I am looking for £500. My sincere thanks for your interest.
8. I hope nobody finds this 'bump' obnoxious.
9. Ok, there's quite a lot of interest in the cab - I can't imagine that being here that long. Anyone feel like treating themselves to the Fafner? Don't worry Shep, I'm not giving up bass for good - I just don't have the opportunity to play it much, if ever, so I'm just going to hang on to one bass and a practice amp and let this go. Doesn't make much sense to have so much money tied up in a rig I, sadly, won't be using.
10. Hey people of the internet, My bass playing days are at an end, hence this sale. EBS FAFNER Ok, so I got this in December '10. I traded my TD650 for this with Shep a.k.a pantherairsoft. If you know Shep, you'll know he looks after his gear very well. And in the 6 months or so I had it I didn't even get to gig with it. Did a couple of band practices but that was all. So maybe the 5 hour trip to go swap amps ultimately proved to be a pointless exercise (for me anyway). But the upshot of this is that it is in fine condition. This amp is unique in that it has fancy blue lights (BLUE!) rather than the normal red ones because of something or other that Shep did to it. It looks good, man, y'know, if you're into cool lookin' amps. Maybe I should have taken a picture of the blue lights, but I didn't think of it at the time. Oh well, you know what blue looks like, right? Original thread is here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...p;hl=ebs+fafner Just did a quick search and the lowest price I've seen it for is £600. So I will also say £600 please. EBS Neo 2x12 I bought this off Bryan a.k.a BBass about this time last year. The original thread is here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=94835&hl= It is pretty much in the same condition now as described by Bryan last year. However, the sticky pad that was holding the EBS logo on has, alas, lost its stick and thus the EBS logo is no longer attached. I didn't do anything about it because I didn't think it was too detrimental to the look of the thing. I'll include it obviously, but I'll leave it up to you to put it on (if you care) as I would probably just mess it up, like I do everything. I gigged this one moderately - maybe between 10 and 20 gigs in the year that I played it and it underwent quite a few practices too. But it isn't any worse for wear after all that. Y'know, these cabs are pretty resilient. That's why people like 'em I guess. Also they sound good. I'd ideally like to get back what I paid for it, given that the condition is the same. So I'll say £400. For obvious reasons I'd prefer collection or meet up. But if you absolutely have to have them couriered to you I'll see what I can do about that. Where there's a will there's a way, right? Here is my feedback! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...p;hl=ebs+fafner
11. I used to be unable to do that stretch then I bullied my hand into doing it anyway and now I can do it easily. If you really can't do it you could play that B on the 7th fret of the E string and put the pinky over the 11th fret as the frets are obviously closer together further up the fingerboard. But that'd probably mean you'd have to do a load of hand-shifting. Also harmonics never really come out that well on the E string, so maybe forget it. Oh well, just thought I'd throw that suggestion out there. Keep learning it - when I first listened to it I thought I'd never be able to play it and now I can do it in my sleep. It won't get you gigs - that is true - but, maybe, just maybe, it could be of some other value!?!?!? It's not a show-piece, it's really not hard to play. It's just good music - nice melody and harmony and you'll have all those harmonics you learned on standby for other musical occasions that might call for such a sound! But above all it's good music and playing good music is awesome whether you're playing a gig or not. But yeah Bil is right that you should also learn to read music it's very rewarding in many ways - but maybe concentrate on PoT for now
12. I traded my EBS TD650 with Shep for his EBS Fafner. I feel I speak for both of us when I say this deal was smoother than James Bond uttering his finest double-entendres. I love the Fafner, it has obviously been very well-looked after and even upgraded (with fancy blue lights)! Shep knows how to look after his stuff. Amiable chap and great guy to deal with! P.S. Make sure he shows you his pedal board - it is awe-inspiring!
13. So the valve in my TD650 has come to the end of its life. I bought the amp second hand a few months back and the previous owner had put in a Marshall ec883. I don't know much about the different valves out there. Is this a good valve for a TD650? Or is anything better that I should buy? Does it even matter?! Give me a clue! Thanks Changles
14. As a chaser owner I can vouch for this bass. I can't imagine anyone not loving it. Mine is great. A ridiculously good price for a bass of this quality too. Good luck with the sale man!
15. I've accumulated some strings that I'm not using so I guess you guys can have them! 2 Sets of Elixir Bass Strings -1 set is gauge 40 - 60 - 75 - 95. I ordered these on the 14th of this month and put them on my bass on the 15th. What is it now? The 19th? So they are pretty new. I put them on and said to myself "Wow these are so bright and full of life! Great strings! I want some flatwounds." - SOLD -The other set is gauge 45 - 65 - 85 - 105. These are older. I bought them approximately 6 months ago for my fretless bass which I played (out of tune) for about a week then forgot about. So the strings still have all their 'zing'. But are also broken in. Best of both worlds! £15 including postage. -I also have a high C string that I bought last week when experimenting with tuning my bass CGDA like a cello. I can throw that into one of the sets for free if you want. Or post on its own, also for free. Heck, it's just one string! I think the gauge is 32. SOLD. -From that same cello tuning experiment I have a set of D'addario banjo strings. I was going to take the bottom string and make it the A string on my bass. Of course it instantly snapped. It worked for the guy from Lightning Bolt though! I also took out one of the 9s to use as a top E on my mandolin. So basically this just has 3 strings - a 9, an 11 and a 13. FREE! Also I have a set of flatwound strings. I don't know what brand they are because my luthier just put them on my bass after a fretless conversion. They are old but haven't played them much as I found them too heavy. I think they're probably 45 - 65 - 85 - 105. Although I don't know the brand, they seem pretty good. They E string especially sounds pretty punchy and defined. As I have no idea how much these are worth shall we say £10 including postage? EDIT: Forgot the DRs! I also have some DR silver stars for sale. Bought these a month or two ago and liked them so played them quite a lot. But, once again, I found the 45 - 65 - 85 - 105 gauge a little too heavy for me. They've still got plenty of life in them, although they've lost that initial freshness. If you're familiar with these strings though, you'll know that they're not the 'zingiest' to start off with anyway. Good quality string though. Really strong fundamental. The fundamental of this string is, like, the Lou Ferrigno of fundamentals - i.e. strong. Bought them for £34.95 from Strings Direct. £20 including postage. Thanks!
16. Bryan aka BBass is a great guy to deal with. Excellent prompt, informative and helpful replies to messages. And he was very patient with me despite my incompetence! I hope he really enjoys China! Gan bei!

18. Selling my Boss ODB-3. How much do these normally go for? £30? Is that fair? If so, I am selling it for £30. Here's a photo so you can check out the condition. It's in good working order but a little scuffed from being stepped on so many times. Apologies for the awful photo quality.
19. Bump and price drop to £100.
20.
The TSL is an absolute monster, in my eyes the best amp Marshall have made in years (craps on the Mode 4, JVM and these ridiculous new JDM things) My brother has the head and cab version and it really makes a wonderful noise. Bump on me
Thank you very much, it is indeed a fine amplifier. Very versatile. Whoever buys it (if that ever happens) will be very happy.
21. I am selling this Hartke cabinet. It has four 10" speakers and a 1" tweeter. These speakers have paper cones unlike the more famous Hartke cabs with aluminum cones. This cab has a warmer and more natural sound, in my opinion, than the aluminum ones or the HyDrive line. (You can actually see a Hydrive in the background of one of the pictures but my Dad prefers it's light weight so is keeping it). Two jacks on the back. One to connect to the amplifier and the other to connect to another extension cab. More details on the Hartke site: http://www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm?prodID=43 Great cabinet. In as new condition. If you have any other queries don't hesitate to message me. Price drop from £150 to £120 to £100. Collection from Harrogate preferred, but PM me and we can sort something out. Thanks for looking. P.S. Apologies for the awful photography.
