1. Long shot bump.
2. My Gold Tone resonator bass is here now so I'm selling my Fender BG-32 30" scale acoustic bass, complete with Fender hard case. This is a great little acoustic bass that I have been using for acoustic practices and open mike nights. It has a built in preamp, complete with tuner which has come in very handy. The nut and bridge have been replaced with higher quality ones which makes it lovely to play. It has a few marks (particularly the top of the headstock) but nothing to worry about. Comes with Fender hard case and a brand new set of Fender strings. I'm after £300 ono collected from North Suffolk. I might be able to travel a bit for petrol costs, or post if necessary. Cheers. 3. I have a faded cherry SG bass which I've being playing for a couple of years now. Coming from guitar I really dig its scale and as mentioned it's really 'easy' to play. I've fitted mine with TI Flats which I think work really well on it, mainly as I'm a pick player. I use a strap with a suede backing which helps the neck dive no end, otherwise it can be annoying. I would definitely recommend them, but my experience is limited. I'm in north Suffolk so if you ever venture this way you are welcome to have a try.
4. Cheers for all the help. Loads of stuff to research now!
5. [sup]Thanks for the comments. Those Japanese Fenders look nice, but not sure where I'll find one in the UK........[/sup]
6. I'm beginning to think I need a medium scale electric bass now...... I currently have a Gibson SG faded bass which I really dig (coming from 6 string guitar) and have used for the last 2 years. However, I've recently got a Gold Tone PBB resonator bass for acoustic gigs and that has a 32" scale. I'm finding I prefer the slightly bigger scale of the Gold Tone now, and when I go back to the Gibson it's a little too short. I've tried 34" basses and not really got on with them so 32" seems to be right for me. I've looked at the Tokai version of the SG bass as it's 32", but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for 32" inch scale electric basses? I play strung with TI Flats in an electric blues trio, but also like to play soul/rock/country rock. Cheers.
7. I'm interested in trading my Markbass CMD 121H for the smaller Markbass Mini CMD 121P. The 121H I have is the newer version and comes complete with a Roqsolid cover. It's in great condition. I'm in North Suffolk and would prefer not to ship this amp if possible. Cheers.
8. The Temperance Movement album is definitely my album of 2013 so far. Went to see them Friday night and can confirm they are amazing live too.
9. I'm selling one of my Bluetone Pro30M amps. I have two of these amps and up for sale is my backup. It's been sat around for a while so I've just checked it works and all is ok. These amps are pretty rare, but the tone is unbelievable for a solid state amp. I'm a massive Paul Kossoff fan, and like these amps as they get that late 60's/early 70's Marshall tone at any volume. The line out is brilliant too for direct recording. This amp is in excellent condition. There's a couple of good video's demonstrating these on Youtube. I'm looking for £300 collected from North Suffolk, or I could meet somewhere reasonable for petrol costs. I do have a box somewhere so could post it if necessary.

20. Decided to try some D'Addario EXPPBB170S's unless people have had bad experiences?
21. Thanks for the replies. I have done some reading and am aware that I'm probably not going to have much joy, but our guitarist is pretty accommodating in playing softly when needed, so I'm hoping for the odd practice it might be enough.... The open mike has a PA should I need it anyway, so it is mainly just for practicing.
22. I have a Fender BG32 30" scale acoustic bass on route that I'll be using for some acoustic practices/open mikes unplugged and am looking for some advice on the best sort of strings for it. I play with a pick, and have recently put TI Flats on my SG bass, which I am loving, so something flat would be ideal, but not necessary. I'm guessing maybe bronze strings will give me the most volume if I dig in with the pick, but then I don't want loads of fret noise when I slide etc. Any input from you guys would be appreciated. Cheers.
