2. Hi, does anybody know the weight of a standard Squier Jazz Bass? Had a look on the Squier website but no joy.
3. Could be a bargain for someone here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Boss-Zoom-B2-1u-bass...id=p3286.c0.m14
4. Does anybody have any experience of these amps. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks Rob
5. Please leave any feedback for me here.
6. Bought a Zoom B2.1U pedel off Sean, excellent chap to deal with, and the pedel was in brilliant condition. Thanks, Rob
7.
Les on Tommy the Cat is brilliant! Jaco on Havona. And Willie Weeks on Everything is Everything. Oh yeah. Cliff Burton's solo on Orion is pretty great - most people mistake it for the very last guitar solo because he's using full-on metal distortion and wailing high up the neck. I have to say though that a great bass solo is a rare thing, it's just not built for it! Alex
Got to agree with you about Cliff's solo on Orion. Truly a master at work.
8.
Here you go. Not quite as positive a review as I thought, but still...
Top man Musky. All i need to do now is find one for sale.
9.
I remember a review of that in Bassist - quite well reviewed if memory serves correctly. I'll still have it about and see if I can dig it out.
That's it, Bassist magazine. Seem to recall it had only been running for a few issues when they did the review.
10. Does anybody remember a version of the Encore P-Bass released about thirteen years ago which featured a natural wood body, gold hardware, and (i think) a red tortoiseshell pickguard. I'm pretty sure they were a limited run of about 500. I do remember reading a review of one in a bass magazine from around that time and i've tried searching the net ect, but can't find any info. I'd really like to track one down as this was the first bass i ever owned, and even though it was an Encore, i loved it to bits. Does anybody has any info on one, or a copy of the magazine review? Cheers, Rob
11. Either Jim Dunlop nylons in .88mm or 1mm, or Tortex in 1mm, depending on what i'm playing.
12. Is there any particular brand of battery that has been found to last better than others, or are all the top brands pretty similer?
13. Hi all, i have just purchased a second hand Vintage V900 Active Bass and i need to replace the strings. Being new(ish) to all this, i have a couple of questions. 1) I have noticed that the E string sounds slightly muted/less bright than the other strings when played from the seventh fret up. Is this just because the strings are knackered, or could it point towards a more serious problem? 2) While the strings are off, i'd like to give the neck and frets a clean. Are there any particular products that should be used, and any that should be avoided? 3) Is there a proper method for replacing strings, is it as easy as it looks or should i get a shop to do it for me? 4) And finally that old gem "What strings should i buy?" I'm leaning towards some of the Ernie Ball Slinky strings, but i'm unsure which type. If it's of any help, i'm going to be playing (i hope) everything from punk and hard rock, to folk and pop, so i guess i need an allround set. Any advice welcome, thanks in advance. Rob

Hi

Hi all, i'm Rob. I dabbled with Bass in my late teens and have now returned to the fold. I'm not in any bands, just play for myself at the moment, but really enjoying it again. Seems like a great place you guys have here, hope it's ok if i pop in from time to time. Cheers Rob
