1. Used to be mine, it is a stunning bass, great sounds, light as a feather and beautifully finished, well worth a punt.
2. Up she goes, this one has been on the back burner for a long while and I'm not itching to move it on, however, I have been offered something I really like.... a deal to be done here!
3. Just sold Nigel one of my Stingrays, an absolute pleasure to deal with, proper gent! I can highly recommend. Cheers Sir!
4. Cheers, she is a beaut! another £100 off + I can chuck in a set of new Elixrs (still boxed), approaching last orders on this one!
5. Weekend Bump, a deal to be done here folks!
6. Cheers for the kind words gents, it is a beautiful bass, I'm just having to be realistic about how much cash I have tied up in instruments a the mo, sad but a sign of the times I'm afraid!
7. Cheers! It is a great looking bass, the neck is hard to photo, the wood looks amazing but the pics don't really do it justice.
8. Afternoon All, Here we have my 1988 Stingray HH5. I’ve had it for a few months at it is stunning, the bird eye maple neck is a thing of beauty but most of my work is on trombone these days so I’m whittling down the collection a tad, I also have an Overwater up for sale, I intend to keep the one that doesn’t sell first! Specs: Teal green Body Birdeye maple neck with rosewood board H H pickup config with MM Preamp (Second pup was fitted by the bass gallery, works great, sounds great)! Comes in a protech gig bag. Condition: As you with expect on an instrument of this age there are a few small nicks on the body but nothing hideous or major, I’ve tried to capture them in the pictures. The neck is fantastic; it is in great nick and a joy to play on. Pics: http://s1294.photobu...5?sort=3&page=1 Thanks for looking. Chris. 9. Afternoon all! Here we have my Overwater Jazz in Sunburst dating from 2010. It is a truly stunning example of a passive jazz and for those of you who like the “old school” jazz tone this would be ideal, it’s a great player. I picked it up in the trade just under a year ago but as the bulk of my work is on trombone these days I can’t justify having pile of basses, I need more dosh! Specs are: Alder body in sunburst 34” scale maple neck with rosewood board Hipshot “type B” bridge. Hipshot ultralite tuners Lindy Fraline pick ups. Passive. Weighs in at around the 9lb mark, great balance/no neck dive. Come with an overwater Hiscox case which is in great nick. Condition: A1, it is immaculate, very well cared for, no dings or wear and the colour of the burst on this is stunning. Price: I’m looking for iro [s]£1000[/s] £900 or a near offer which considering a new one is not far off double this, I may take an offer for a quick sale so feel free to ask, I am also happy to ship. No trades this time please, it’s a fundraiser (Unless of course you have a Shires B1 1RT7 bass trombone bell going spare but I think I’ll be out of luck on that one)! Pics.... http://s1294.photobu...z?sort=3&page=1 Thanks for looking! Chris. PS… My feedback: http://basschat.co.u...__1#entry805348 http://basschat.co.u...__1#entry915936 http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2512111
10. This one used to be mine (a long time ago), at this price it is a huge bargain, a great sounding and great looking bass and a little bit of history, well worth a punt for somebody!
11. Cheers all for the interest/offers, there is a trade pending on this one tomorrow morn, so all being well she should end up in the hands of someone who can play her!
12. Pics of back and close ups added to the gallery as requested.
13. Hi Arpi, Its a 34" scale with 17.5mm spacing, weight wise its round the 9-9 1/2 pound mark, me standing on the bathroom scales is the most accurate measure I have I'm afraid. Shipping? Yes, I'm happy to ship overseas at buyers expense, within the EU it's not normally too expensive but I would want to ship fully insured, I'd also need to get quotes for the cost which I can get back to you. Cheers Chris
14. Morning all! here we have my Letts custom 6'er; the bass was custom built for me and is just a couple of months old, it is a thing of absolute beauty but alas my "hobby horse" technique is just not up to playing this many strings, it is a beast and is totally wasted on me (it seemed like a good idea at the time)! so I'm looking to move on or trade for something more suited to my playing. Specs are: Alder body with camphor burl top and mahogany back 7 piece neck thru of wenge and padauk Ebony board with camphor block inlays, evo gold fret wire 2 x single coil pups with camphor burl covers Hipshot type A bridge and hipshot ultralite tuners East 3 band preamp Comes in a v clean Protech bag Tips the scales at around the 9lb mark (Me perched on bathroom scales so as accurate as I can get it)! Condition: is A1, no dings, nicks or wear of any description, ungigged, it is as new. Price: i'm looking for £850, Jon did me a great price on it so i'm passing that on, I may entertain an offer if it is sensible so feel free to ask. Trades? I am will to entertain trades on this... something "fenderesque"... 4's or 5's J's or P's, anything else? feel free to ask but please don't be offended if it's not my cup of tea! I can put some cash in a deal if needed. Shipping: I'm happy to ship it wherever you like but the buyer foots the bill for this, I would want to ship fully insured and I'm happy to get quotes on this (not normally too expensive). Pics: http://s1294.photobu...d?sort=3&page=1 I Will be adding more pics to the diary over the next day or so. Thanks for looking! Chris.
