  1. This one used to be mine (a good few years back) and I had it from new, lovely bass and well worth a punt.
  2. A pic of my horn... a beast it is!
  3. I had a Sonic Blue Shuker jazz a few years back that I sold in the name of GAS, It was a fantastic bass and I've regretted ever since!
  4. + 1 on that, I had a spare TC BH250 that I was going to sell but the price on them drops so fast etc.... So I picked up an ex demo 4 ohm Eden 1x12 and the rest is history! Have to admit, I'm quite chuffed with the sound & oomph, it's also still transportable!
  5. For anyone else trying this..... Morley ABC pedal, V easy to do, no buzzing, hums or other noises, sounds great!
  6. I think you're right, Would a DI box with ground lift do the job?
  7. Ok! I've now tried this! and it works!! Good noise and loud as hell, it proper makes my trousers flap! One question, when the second head it switched on it get a buzzing... now I'm assuming that this is because I have the second head sat on top of the first and it is picking something up from its innards (Can you tell I have no technical knowledge)? Is there anything I can put in between them (apart from daylight) that will help with this? ta.
  8. True, just thinking that I can gef some oomph for minmum dosh and hassle free transport, will give it a whirl!
  9. Sounds like a plan, I'm using 2 x 112 at 8 ohms each on the BH550, in theory I could run a 12 eg and eden at 4 ohms off the BH250....?
  10. Afternoon all! I'm after some advice on a technical question as I have nil technical knowledge..! I have a TC electronic BH550 and a couple of Genz focus 112 cabs, sounds great and a lot of bang for my fairly limited budget, suits me well... I also have a spare BH250 Head that I no longer use, I had thought about moving it on but someone suggested that I could put another cab on it and slave it up to my other head..... Is this a thick idea that could fry my rig or just sound crap? if not then how would I do it? Both heads have an XLR balanced out, could and xlr to jack run from my 550's xlr out into the 250's input and power a third cab? this is all just a thought etc and if it is a stupid one I hope some will tell me! Cheers Chris.
  11. £550 for a custom built bass? It is a massive bargain for a piece of Alan's work. I bought a Graft 4 on a whim a few years back and it was fantastic, just a shame I was a plank and sold it in the name of GAS, If I wasn't skint I'd snap this up in a heartbeat!
  12. Cheers guys, thats kind of what I thought, I have had a Hiscox in the past and loved, will check out the SKB. ta.
  13. Morning all! Quick question... For my sins and as a favour I'm off trolleying round europe playing for a few weeks and need to get myself a decent hard case, I don't really want my Sandberg VM5 flying around the back of a van in the cheapo bags the come with... does anyone have any suggestions? Ta Chris.
  14. I think the technique advice is on point, my fingerstyle is pretty solid, I've dodged slap for years but thought I'd grasp that nettle.... It sounds crap, sucks donkeys in every way! Still, not quite as crap as last week! I guess all you "slappers" have been through that one!
  15. Ahhh... woodshedding it is then!
  16. Ahhh.... my noise will be an e string flapping in the breeze because I don't alway get there quick enough to mute it, it a hinky technique thing, work in progress!
  17. Morning all! A quick question about using pedals for slap....... First up, I don't slap, I wish i could and I am working on it (it's like pulling teeth)! As a result of my appalling technique I'll often get the lower string ringing away when I don't want them. I know that good technique will sort this and I am on it! A friend suggested using a gate pedal to help "lose" the noise? Any suggestions? Recommendations? Or is the just insane? Obviously i'll keep woodshedding until I get there but as curious and hoped some folks knew about this stuff! Cheers Chris.
  18. I have a pair of Genz focus 1x12's, don't think they'd handle this kind of power though, I do like the sounds from the Berg/Markbass combination.... al to of folks seem to like Vanderkley? Not yet heard those though.
  19. Yeah, I had heard that a few times... I like the sound of them and the price is right but I want to be able hear it, Also considering a Bergantino 2x12, more money and heavier though..
  20. Morning all! Daft question, has anyone out there tried the Phil Jones C4 cabs with either a Reidmar 750 or a Little Mark 800? Is this a bonkers combination? I'm looking to get something portable with a bit more Oomph than my current setup but without breaking the bank! Obviously I will go and try before I buy but wondered if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions? ta.
  21. Afternoon al! I sold "Bobs" my Overwater Jazz bass, top bloke to deal with and a v east transaction, I can highly recommend! Cheers Chris.
  22. Nah, just give in, you know you want to! A deal to be done here... you just have to ask!
