4.
Really? I love mine, but hey horses for courses...
There was something about it that was just, I don't know how to put it... It wasn't quite right. I'm very fussy. Plus the front mounted effects loop and fact it was an un-switchable effects loop annoyed me no end. The top mounted fan meant I had to leave a unit free to get air to it and I missed the growl from a valve driven pre amp like what was in the old Trace Elliot I had. That's why I'm using a Sansamp now. Groooooowl
Fantastic effects unit for a steal - pay bazillions more for the equivalent in boutique, hand painted pedals with hand made capacitors rolled on the thighs of tahitian virgins and never notice the difference on stage.
You're dead right. I've just got a Boss CEB pedal now for chorus. I don't use chorus all that much now and the CEB was dead cheap so I just have that sitting there for the rare moments I do want to use some chorus. PM's replied to cheers
5. I played a Classic 50's P Bass (black, gold plate, maple board) the other day and obviously that series are made in Mexico but after hearing all the put downs on MIM Fenders, I was pleasantly surprised by it. I will admit, if I ever bought one, I would stick some Seymour Duncan SPB-1 pickups in it but that's only because I have SPB-1's in both my main P basses (Steve Harris MIJ signature and 1987 MIA restoration project) So yeah, my two pennies worth is to go try one before criticizing them. Great "bang for buck" as it were. Ps, I really want one in LPB with a maple board... Yummmmm
6. Cheers for the responses guys. Definitely looks like the overwhelming vote goes to the NS-2 which is kinda handy as it means I can go get that, a tuner and some other pedal on the BOSS but 2 get one free thing I would love a Decimator like what you had Dood but that is a little out of the price range unfortunately. Cheers then guys!
7. Haha no. I'm glad I didn't to be honest as the GK tone was never right for my liking.
8. Topo morto - I'll be honest, I've never found much on the net about them. I only really heard of them when I had worked out what all the units in Steve Harris of Iron Maiden's bass rig (as of 2006) were. Being Sony, I guessed it would be good so hunted them down and got these. Turns out they are absolutely amazing! If you go down to page 21 of 28 on this link, there's the official info from the Sony 1998/99 catalogue http://pdf.textfiles.com/manuals/STARINMANUALS/Sony%20Audio/Archive/1998%20Catalog.pdf Pob - It is incredible. Ran my iPod through the spare one and it was niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice I use a Behringer T1952 compressor but mainly only use that for output levelling. Bloody good compressor for £60
9. Nooo i had the 700RBII. Couldn't be bothered with the 2001RB, too expensive haha
10. Haha I sold the GK amp about 2 months ago. Replaced it with a Sansamp for a dirty channel and a 31 band equaliser running in to a separate pre-amp for my cleans. 'tis why the Yamaha is up for sale. got a decent price for the GK to be fair. The guy gave me £300 for it (he offered that). Bump for the Yamaha SPX 90II. Will probably accept close offers?
11. Hi guys, cheers for the in interest Pictures are uploaded now. Hope someone does or doesn't buy this soon Please excuse the poor quality, still not got my iPhone 5! Cheers Stevie
12. [s]Hey guys I've just finished building my "black plague" P-Bass as I call it but as I bought a 5-string the other day, I've put a few things up for sale to fund it. This bass is one I built at home from parts I bought off the net. By no means are they crap parts either! All hardware and body are black apart from the tuning pegs and bridge but read the specs and you'll know why... Body: Solid wood, unsure but I think it's alder/ash from the weight of it - £50 Neck: 1 piece maple boarded C shape neck. Old school precision thickness with skunk stripe too! - £70 Tuners: 1987 Official Fender tuning pegs (off my 1987 checkerboard unfinished restoration project) - Replacement American Vintage reverse wind sets seem to be around £50 so call it that Pickups: 2003 Official Fender japan split P pick up - £30 Pots: 500k volume and tone pots - £15 Shielding: Copper shielding through all of the cavity - £5 Pickguard: 1 ply black (had to slightly widen the bit where the pick up ears go in to) - £15 Knobs: Flat top tele style knurled - £10 Thumb rest: Positioned above the neck, made of plastic - £3 Bridge: Wilkinson 4 saddle with brass saddles - £15 Neck plate: Official Fender 4 bolt plate - £15 String tree: Round Fender style - £5 Strings: D'addario Chrome Flatwounds Strap buttons: Large topped - £8 £291 total build cost, £200 asking price. Can't do much fairer. Condition: Everything apart from the body is perfect as they were bought brand new. The body I would say is around 6.5/10 condition. This is because on the back there are a lot of scratches and scuffs as well as one paint chip on the top edge which has been covered up by dabbing black nail varnish on there. You wouldn't notice it when your arm is down playing the bass. If you sit down and play the bass, it would be where your wrist/forearm are positioned but it's not sharp or anything so it's un-noticable. All this was done before I bought the body. It has been drilled to take a pickup and bridge cover but i'm not sure if i'll include them. I have set the action up to be medium to low with no fret buzz, no dead frets, no note choke, perfect intonation on open 12th fret and 12th fret harmonic. Harmonics ring out so nicely too! I love playing it and if I can sell some other things that means I don't have to sell it then I won't but it's up for sale now anyway. Collection is welcome, I live just off the toddington junction of the M1 or postage will be £15-£20. Without bridge cover With bridge cover Body shot Headstock Neck plate 1 Neck plate 2 Back of body. Scratches don't show up much as you can see and a lot of it is actually reflections of my ceiling, not the scratches! Pics up now! Stevie[/s] GOOOOOOOONE!
13. Hi guys I had been after a Sony E-100 SRP 31 band graphic equaliser for about a year now and kept missing out as they only ever appeared on evilbay either in pairs or at a far too high price so eventually I bit the bullet and said "next one to come up, I'll buy". So I did... but it happened to be a pair of them. Obviously, I only need one so I'm selling the other one (plus it'll help re-coup the money I spent on a new bass) right, about this unit. 31 band equaliser going from 20hz all the way up to 20KHz, all the sliders on both units are fully operational, no caps are missing, couple of minor scratches to the casing from where it's obviously been taken out of a rack case before, -10 to +10dB input dial with a center detent at 0dB, EQ on/off switch, LCF (low cut frequency) on/off switch (for if you want to remove 20hz to 100hz), front mounted power button with green indicator LED light, balanced or unbalanced input selection switch on the back along with a -10dB/+4dB output switch, jack and xlr for both input and output (jack is unbalanced, xlr is balanced). Front face on both are in perfect condition, it's only the top and bottom of the case on both that have minor scratches. All sliders go from -12dB to +12dB with a middle detent at 0dB. Unless you're really boosting the 8KHz to 20KHz range, this unit is totally silent but in saying that, there's only a very small hiss I noticed when I was boosting that really high range. The EQ bypass switch seems to be that true bypass. It doesn't suck any of your natural tone and it doesn't colour it in any way. I noticed this when A/B'ing my Precision Bass through it. I've borrowed a friends Boss LS-2 to test this. Test 1: Bass -> E-100 with EQ on -> Line 6 Toneport UX2, Test 2: Bass -> E-100 with EQ off -> Line 6 Toneport UX2, Test 3: Bass -> Line 6 Toneport UX2. All tests were done with no post EQ and the input level on the E100 set to 0dB. [s]Asking price for the unit is £60 plus PnP or collection is welcome. I live just off the Toddington junction of the M1. I'll even make you a cuppa if you so wish! Pics upon request![/s] SOLD TO DAN, THANKS FOR ALL THE INTEREST GUYS! Cheers Stevie
14. Come on, no one interested in this fantastic piece of kit? I thought they were quite sort after?

16. Great starter bass? Ibanez GSR 200. I've never owned one and I don't know why. They're great for all ranges of music. I always borrow my mates one when I pop over his. P/J pick up configuration and an active tone circuit so you get more versatility. If you don't buy one, you're mad. ...and that's coming from an Ibanez hater!

18. Up for sale is my AKG WMS Pro 40 FLEXX wireless system. I'm pricing it down at £30 because it is just the reciever. The item is sold as is but as said and I will not be supplying a PSU with it as the one I have is currently being used on my tv digibox! I'm such a gypo... Haha. They're only a tenner from Argos/Maplin anyway. I have tested it and it does work perfectly £30 plus £5 PNP or you are welcome to collect it. I live just off the toddington junction of the m1. Cheers Stevie
