1. Hi Lorne. I've fitted in the main BQC control to my bass and just hooked up the pickups straight to it to test it and it sounds amazing. Very pleased with it and well worth the £70. Will definitely fit one of these to any other active basses I ever get. Congrats to you on getting one as well iiipopes/paul_5, that Rick idea sounds awful, why the hell would they bother doing that? Yuk! Alyctes, now there's a good idea although I love myself too much so I'd have it pointing at me haha After fitting the tone control section of the BQC, i've found I don't have much space so it's going to have to be just a small kill switch in there. Cheers for the advice from all of you though. I've just got to find an off/on switch that will fit in the space now. Oh and i've got to get some new volume pots as I lost my old ones haha. Such is life!

3. Hey I've just got a new EMG BQC pre amp for my bass but due to the old pre amp I had fitted having a mini toggle switch for the mid-frequency selector, I have a mini toggle sized hole in my bass. I don't want to put a cap in it and I don't want to fill it some how, I just decided it would make sense to fit a kill switch in there as it would enable me to just leave my settings as they were on the bass but mute it in one go so, I have a few questions... 1: What sort of switch would be best for doing this? I just want it to be on/off, not 3 way, just 2 way switch. 2: is it as easy as just taking the hot wire from the pre amp, attaching it to one pin of the toggle switch then running another wire from the switch to the output jack (which i need to add is a barrel jack)? 3: Will this affect my tone in any way? Cheers guys, your help will be greatly appreciated!
4. Sold my Dave McKeen pre amp to Sam and he's a really cool guy to deal with. He messaged me back about the item and paid a few minutes later. Thanks very much Sam, hope to deal with you sometime in the future. Very trustable guy!

6. Chris - I just checked out the Decimator, my god they're expensive! Won't be getting one of those although I wish I could. Thisnameistaken - I use a lot of high end on my clean bass tone so that coupled with overdrive and compression have left me with an annoying hissing sound when i'm not playing so I just want it there to gate that off really D-L-B - That's one awesome and very complicated looking board. I hate you though, you have 5 of the pedals I really want! (NS-2, LS-2, Sansamp Para Driver, TC Flashback and Digitech Whammy). I'll have to see if anyone I know has an NS-2 and borrow it for a couple of days to test it out. Currently in the process of a complete rig re-build as well.
7. Used it for a gig on Friday night and unfortunately, the rig I had to run it through along with the dead flatwounds made it sound like crap. I borrowed a knackered old Trace Elliot rig that really needed to be thrown in to an incinerator as it has seen (and heard) better days. No bottom end or mids what so ever even through a 4x10 and 2x15 pairing. Anyway, the bass is currently all black with the maple neck but fitted with proper Fender American Vintage reverse wind tuner pegs. They're the only non-black hard ware on the bass. Hopefully once I've got some Roto BS66 strings on it and I can put it through my own rig, it will sound amazing. Pics tomorrow or something...
8. Damn Chris, that was quick! Thanks for the suggestions though. That's a shame to hear the NS-2 sucks the tone a bit =/
9. Hey guys I'm looking at getting a noise gate pedal for my travel pedal board (I use it for gigs I can't take my main rig to) so obviously, I don't want it to cost the earth. Maximum really £60/£70. The 2 obvious ones out there are the Boss NS-2 Noise Supressor and the MXR Smart Gate M135 but I don't know if they would suck the tone out of a bass guitar? I don't want to lose any of the tone I have, it would just be nice to get rid of the hiss etc that comes with using a lot of treble along with slight overdrive and the occasional tad of chorus. It has to be powered by a 9v battery or be able to be powered off a standard 9v pedal adapter as I use one of those pedal snake things but i'm looking to get a power brick somewhere down the line. Throw suggestions at me but please, do not suggest any behringer pedals. I'm a bit heavy footed and smashed one of those Behringer plastic ones before xD plus, the pedals are crap! Their rack equipment is good but that's another thread and story... NOISE GATE PEDALS!

13. If only this was red, i would have taken it without any thought. Would of gone VERY nicely with my red Toby Pro 4. Free bump on me then!

16. This really needs to sell before I sell a kidney and lung to buy it... I've got a spare mirrored pickguard sitting here just asking me to buy it and put it on there!
17. Forum rules state you have to list a location, price and either postage cost or collection only. Also, some pics will help with the sale

19. I've got the old JCM800 Bass Series cabs as my main ones. 1 4x12 angled and 1 2x15 straight. Ideally, I'd love to get another matching pair at some point but I doubt anyone would let them go at what I got them for. I paid £240 for the 4x12 and £90 for the 2x15. I got the 2x15 so cheap because I had to travel to the ar5e end of london to go get it and picked the 4x12 up from Birmingham. Let me know what the cabinet is, what speakers it's loaded with and what sort of price you'd be looking for and I might sort a deal out with you at some point
20. So then, I recently acquired a black Alder Precision Bass body and as it was black, decided that I was going to build an "all black! P-Bass. Parts I've ordered (all black unless stated otherwise): - Alder P Bass body - Big back high mass bridge - 1 ply pickguard - Bridge and pick up ashtray covers - Fender 4 bolt neck plate - Circular official Fender string tree - Thumb rest - Strap buttons - Flat top tele style knobs - CTS 250k split shaft volume and tone pots (not black but not seen luckily) - Switchcraft input jack (chrome... bugger!) - Maple Precision Bass neck from Dangleberry Music (awaiting delivery of the neck) - Copper cavity shielding - 4 official Fender american vintage 70's tuning pegs (chrome with Fender logo, awaiting delivery from Muricuuuuh!) I couldn't find the tuning pegs in the right shape in black (I want them to be that American Vintage style so they match the ones on my 87 Fender P-Bass and Steve Harris signature P Bass) so I just ordered these ones. Probem I've now encountered is that I've recently started listening to and admiring Phil Lynott... Need I say anymore? You some of you may now say "But that's going to cost you more money to build one like his..." ...Unfortunately it's not really. I already have a solid brass chrome plated P Bass pickguard sitting here un-used that was going to go on my '87 P Bass but as that has just sat there doing nothing, doesn't look to be getting used for a long time but some other bits I have spare already are (again, chrome unless stated) - 2 flat top tele style knobs - Mirrored pickguard - "F" stamped official Fender 4 bolt neck plate (plus a couple of non-logo 4 bolt Fender plates) - P Bass pick up covers (off white dimarzio style ones) - Circular official Fender string tree - Loads of strap buttons and a set of Schaller strap locks ready to be fitted to any bass I choose Anyway, I've thrown all the black parts I have together to see what it looks like (minus the bridge) and just put my spare de-fretted Sue Ryder bass neck on it so I could line up the pickguard properly. Also, there are no pick ups fitted at the moment. That will come at a later date. Here's some pics (p!ss poor iPhone 3GS time again!, please note there is still a film on the pickguard but the body really is that battered)
21. Back up for sale again! I got an Aguilar OBP-3 as a present so this is redundant. £50 plus £3 postage!
22. Problem is, i don't have the patience with the sanding paper. I'm too scared I'll end up ruining it. I would rather pay and get a decent finish than attempt it myself and make it look crap. I'm based between luton and milton keynes as well mate
23. Hey guys I'm trying to find someone who would be willing to lacquer a bass body for me. I bought a Precision Bass body off ebay (or could of been here actually...) but it's quite dented so i'm going to strip it down and re-shoot it in black but I don't have the know how on getting a nice smooth finish with lacquer. So, what I'm after is any of you BC'ers who would be willing to lacquer a bass for me. I'm not going to ask you to do it for free either! I will of course pay to have it done (can't afford anything to expensive though!). I will supply the bass fully primer'd and shot in black gloss paint ready to be lacquered for my project bass. Any takers on this one? Cheers Stevie
