Oooooh... close 🤣
According to that, my city has mostly death and black metal bands.
My old power metal bands on it which is nice.

Something that might be worth considering, see if you can get a cheap travelodge or something. Drive, grab cab, sleep, drive home.
I’ve done that for grabbing some gear. And the dog. If you have a partner, take them with and have a wee jonty! My wife quite enjoyed the days out.

Looks super cool! How do they actually do it, do they remove the fret board and route a channel to run the wiring? I'm sure it's quite expensive to have done... 😬 Really looks incredible though!
I don’t think they remove the fretboard or frets, but there does seem to have been a channel routed in the neck. Feels completely flush though. Will grab photos when it’s back from being setup!

I’m thinking of downloading the Moises APP, is it possible to import music from my CD collection to use to practice bass lines as I already own them or do I have to use iTunes or similar?
Have you got the owned CD’s as digital format already? Memory serves you’d need to upload. Though I do think moises has a mode through the microphone, so if you played the track, it should listen and learn.

Newtone do pretty awesome strings. You can custom make if the normal brands gauge don’t suit.
Depending on what you’re doing, you might need to adjust the nut. My basses are 150 on the low string with the nut filed (5 string)

What's the 6th string tuned to?
B if memory serves. The low string is dropped a few steps, but the others only are a half step technically. 😊

Had a Dingwall NG2 5 stringer for a couple of yrs mainly for a Prog project i was working on but i prefer 4 strings. It was a terrific bass tho and i would buy another 4 string Dingwall.
Dave
I had a few Dingwalls over the last few years but never fully committed. This year I’ve fallen majorly for them. Completely replaced my Status basses (bar one). If you decide you want a Dingwall 5 or 6, hit me up 😂

I bought a Dingwall Afterburner 1 and it’s absolutely amazing. Got a kemper player ordered that I’m hoping will be fun.

I bought this with the aim of using a 6 string more. But I’ve found I only use it for noodling! I’m much more of a 5 string player, so there’s no point this kicking around at the moment for me.
Great condition and super easy to play (this was my first ever 6!). The previous owner got his tech to add the yellow lines on the body. I quite liked them, made the bass a bit more unique. They look like they were meant to be there.
It’s got the Dingwall soft case and toolkit and has Dunlop strap locks - so if you use them, you’re golden. Currently setup G# D# G# C# F# B with Newtone strings (Northlane set)
Based in Aberdeen, but can ship. I have boxes.
Will grab more photos if needed 😊

Dunlops on everything. Everything.
Message ends.
I’ve started using them on my Dingwalls. Much happier than when I used the Schallers, much lower profile.

Not sure I understand this...
G#, as in?
You mean G#0 as in 3 half steps bellow the low B on a 5 or 6 string bass?
Yeah.
G# D# G# C# F# B

I’ve been a 4 player for years, but recently started playing down at G#. So much easier to use 5 or 6 strings!

I’m selling another of my Dingwall basses. This bass is excellent, no marks that I’m aware of!
Sounds fantastic and plays great. Currently setup for G# (with a 170 gauge string on the low string so would go lower with ease). I think I still have have a few payson strings too.
It’s got the Darkglass tone capsule and is pretty versatile.
I used it to record my bands latest single (https://open.spotify.com/track/7JvwBL17LKHuBQKjHlNY9b?si=8b2K9591SFKL4REjf62MCg)
It was sold to me without a case, but I have one to put it in and have a box that it could be shipped in (and wrapped up insanely well!)
Based in Aberdeen.
(Will update with more pictures!) 😊

This thread makes me sad. I have had to replace my one of my basses about 3 times in 2 months. Using Payson. £15 for the low string each.
They die so quick. I’m trying the Newtone strings on my new 6 and they’ll go on the 5 when back from Sims.

Hi folks.
I’ve moved onto 5 and 6 string basses so this bass is currently not being used.
I bought it new from The Bass Gallery in the UK at the start of June. However, when my tech installed the strap locks (in the proper way I should add), the paint appeared to flake on the upper horn. Not sure why, not sure if there was an issue before and the strap pin replacement made it obvious or something… however, my guys have sealed it again (sans one piece of paint that went missing at a band practice). Highly annoying. I have included a photo of this. (They have advised that the didn’t use a drill or electric screwdriver to screw in too quick etc so who knows).
There’s no other marks on it. It’s been used for maybe one or two band practices before I decided to use 5s, and has not been gigged yet. The photos don’t show it well but it’s a lovely white pearl finish.
It’s currently tuned to CGCF. I’ll include the strap locks too.
Based in Aberdeen, Scotland but happy to ship.

I traded a Dingwall bass into Will who was excellent to deal with, knowledgeable and fair with his price. I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with him again.
Which Dingwall was it? I’m wondering if it’s one I’ve purchased 😂
I’ve bought and sold loads with Will. I’ve loads of time for him. Great guy.

I’ve injured myself in a variety of ways in the past, back, legs, shoulders, wrists. You name it, I’ve hurt it!
I used to do obstacle races loads and did thai boxing.
One of my Thai coaches suggested i try something called Kinetic chain release when I’d gubbed my knee at tough mudder. Physio wasn’t helping and I was getting low (emotionally… I couldn’t even bend my knee to use the bog!)
Gave it a shot and it was night and day. I have no idea how it works or why. But it’s helped when I’ve broken myself. I still call the person who does it my witch doctor. I should add, I am not spiritual in the slightest.
She had helped with loads of other conditions (sciatica etc) that people I knew had.
I think there are practitioners everywhere, I would certainly give it a look!
