The latency is a big selling point. The latency with my 1st gen Scarlett is fine by itself but when you start piling on NDSP plugins etc any reduction is a big win.

That's good to hear, Im gonna keep an eye out for good deals and hopefully grab one soon👌

To be honest after doing a bunch of research and chatting to folks, I think I'm going to take a punt with the Motu M4. It ticks all the boxes for me, the side-by-side comparisons ive heard sounded marginally better to my ears and they can be found for a great price. Ive never had any issues with my Scarlett but sucks to hear you had a bad time with the Clarett.

Just realized sed the Clarett doesn't have Loopback which is a real shame as that'd be a really handy feature for what I need. Given Id be looking at the 2pre I wouldn't have the inputs to setup my own loopback etc. Maybe I'll just stick with the Scarlett, for demo stuff and doing little videos for social media I don't think the difference in audio quality would quite offset the ease of use that the Scarlett offers. Nothing to see here 🤣

I'm sorry for the epic necro however I wonder how things stand up with the later range of devices? I'm currently trying to weigh up a Clarett+ 2Pre vs Scarlett 4i4 4th Gen. I currently have a 1st gen Scarlett 2i2, but looking to do more re-amping etc so need 2 inputs and 4 outputs. Does the Clarett+ still have an edge on the newer Scarlett range of devices in terms of audio quality? I do appreciate how the features of the Scarlett are accessible via hardware controls vs software, I do on occasion use the interface directly into my phone for some quick videos and demos etc which means I wouldn't have access to those options.

First Bass Owned: Tanglewood Warrior (that bass was passed around most of the bass players where I lived at some point). 'Go To' Bass: Schecter Exotic P4 DIY modded with Turner Multicoils and Lusithand NFP. 'Your' Bass: Yamaha BB1024x, recent addition but just instantly gets the sound I need for 90% of occasions.

I think the Templeboard Solo is the perfect size for my needs, not sure I can justify another board on top of my RB 2.1 and 3.0 though!

Ive actually switched up the Longsword for the MAE Black Math since taking this picture but very happy with the angry tones I get out of this. It can get pretty gnarly 👌 Heres a quick jam featuring The Accountant > Dagger > Model FeT > Bass Driver > Opus (with power amp and Science IRs):

I love it, there's a few times ive had an idea, connected to my phone and recorded a quick video with the audio from the Go that would've otherwise been long forgotten. I love that I can play bass in the garden while my daughter's playing too. It also sounds great considering how compact it is.

I’m using pick 90% of the time but the Handbox WB-100 sounds great for both.

Such a cool idea but at £200 for my full board itd probably be better to invest in a decent pedal case. 🫠
 -
They're incredible, they make my favourite pedals by far!

Borrowed a Longsword v4 from a guy at work to compare to the v2 and set up my board to test. Consensus is that they're all amazing. Really makes me appreciate just how great the dagger is, no matter how nasty it gets, never looses articulation. The Longsword v4 is super flexible thanks to the 3 clipping options and extra boost. Easily the best distortions I’ve ever tried, I always come back to EAE stuff.

You can do some really cool stuff with assigns to tweak parameters basses on input levels etc. Lets you do some really cool creative stuff which I missed on other units like the QC and Stomp.

PS same works with my Scarlett 2i2, you could use one channel for bass and the other for the mono backing track perhaps? -

I recently realised I can use the boss Katana:Go connected via USB to my iphone to record my bass directly in the camera app. It wouldn't record the AUX in though so you'd still need to sync up to the backing track audio. It'd probably be less faffy than syncing video to audio though. -
Still very much enjoying the Handbox WB100. Had a while of not really having chance to use it so was up for sale but now find myself in 2 bands where its a perfect fit. Sounds incredible 👌 The only thing that topped it was a Marshall VBA400 but I ain't lugging around a 40kg amp 🤣 I’d love to try a Traynor but the EAE Bass Driver into the front of the Handbox gets me to a pretty comfortable TS50b-ish place from samples ive heard.

A cautionary tale regarding Royal Mail
MrDinsdale replied to MrDinsdale's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, it was. I cant contest it because I know it arrived however I do want to find out more information on why they're refusing to reimburse the loss. I'll try and get in touch when I can. The whole thing was very stressful, thankfully the person I sold it to was really understanding. -

I thought that at first but then the letter mentions the item not reach its destination. I'll follow it up and report back if I hear anything. -

It didn't fly anywhere, I think they just have a depot there.
