  1. and who pray tell is Natasha Henstridge? (sorry, not too hot on me celebs) oh, and thanks for the replies. I figured as much. I generally wouldn't pay extra either, but I guess someone out there may so it seems ebay is the way, but I'll stick a post up on Level 42 and Statii sites as well and see what happens. cheers p.
  2. Hi Back in the days of Bassist magazine I was the lucky git who won an Ashdown ABM400 head that was signed by Mark King. Still got it and its been great, but thinking it may be time to move it on. What price do you put on an amp with a signature. Of course it depends on whether you're a fan of the signatory or not but I can't decide where to start the pricing. Because of this, it'll probably go on the bay with a reserve but if any King fans out there want to pm me offers then fire away. Would also like to hear examples of what other signed gear has gone for. Cheers Paul
  3. Yes, pre chrome corners. . . and provisionally sold. P.
  4. Hi all Up for sale is my Compact. Well used, well loved, well good imo. Just got the midget and think that will do me fine as my bands aren't particularly loud and I love the portability thang. As you can see in the pics the handle has become worn and the rubber has split but the metal strap within seems fine. One corner protector is a bit split (see pic). Otherwise, its everything you've heard in these forums, Very light 32lbs, very loud and deep but with a good top end too, and has never struggled in any situation. See www.barefacedbass.com for loads of reviews and info. £SOLD Based in Bangor, N Wales if you want to collect. Cheers Paul
  5. And I was the reason Wayne had it in his possession. I still love it, and hopefully fitting a K&K pickup tomorrow. That ebay one looked ok until I saw the crack in the neck. . .shame.
  6. S'mai Gwilym Sorry mate, no headphone out on this one. Diolch Paul
  7. Just had a quick look at interparcel and they have many options starting as cheap as £5.95 but you have pay extra for insurance depending on the items value. Great service, have used them before. Just need to be sure there's someone in to receive goods and sign. Cheers Paul

I too, am deeply saddened by this news as I had been in touch with Si just a couple of weeks ago. He was a true gent and was always ready to help. I know his presence on Basschat will be missed terribly and condolences go out to his family and friends. RIP Si
  11. Hi OG Do you fancy babysitting the Eko for a few days if Wayne fancies that cuppa ?
  12. Bump for the Eko just to say I'm off to Devon on the 22/23 Aug, so if theres any takers for getting this bad boy from Canterbury to anywhere M5 ish I would pick up en route Many Thanks The Eko Worrier P.
  13. Hello again A quick update to see if we can move the Eko any closer North. How you doin Chris ? Hope you're feeling better. Bob, in response to your earlier post about coming to Snowdon on the 24th. Is that still looking likely to happen ? Hello to Wayne, Any news on where your travels may take you ? Bob mentioned Epsom or Docklands IIRC. Realise I've probably left it a little too late again but thought it worth a bump. Hi also to Steve Redstripe, hows tricks ? Are you spending any time in London at the mo? Also just to re-iterate that I would be more than happy get over towards Birmingham M5 / M6 to facilitate a pickup if anyone is going that way. Cheers for now Paul
  14. Hi Guys Hope your recovery is comfortable Chris, I'm currently nursing an ear infection which has left me very deaf, so I wouldn't be able to hear this bass even if it did get here . Anyway, thanks for the networking, hopefully it will work out. Bob, thanks for your offer of the 24th. Snowdon is very close to us if we can't get sorted before. p.s forgot to mention beer/string tokens for those able to help. This is much appreciated ! Cheers Paul
  15. That's a very kind offer Steve Redstripe. Thanks mate So, any offers on Canterbury to Stoke Newington ? Yes Dave, the Eko is a bit of a stubborn mule when it comes to travelling, but I hope once its been dragged to Wales it will enjoy its new pasture ! Cheers Paul
  16. Hi Guys n Gals A couple of months ago I bought a acoustic Eko bass from Beedster. For one reason or another we've been unable to meet up as we'd planned. Due to the fragility of the bass and its rather unique shape its also been tricky to find a hard case that will definately fit. There will be a well padded soft case with it. Was wondering if any of you would be in a position to help getting it from the Canterbury area up to the North Wales area. I live near Bangor but would happily travel over towards Birmingham or Chester / Wrexham or somewhere to pick up. Thanks for listening. Hope you don't think I'm being too cheeky. Thought it was worth a shot. Cheers Paul
  17. Hi My J Retro is up for sale. Its one of the very early ones made by John East. Recently had it reconditioned by him. He upgraded it to have lower noise on the treble circuit and replaced the battery clip. Hasn't been used since, as I'm in passive mode for the forseeable future. So here it is for £120 Cheers Paul
  18. Here's a feeler for my Zoot Performer 4 string bass. Great reliable bass, gorgeous neck. I have used it alot over the last few years but now I am generally sticking to my JV Jazz and have decided to stop hoarding basses so its time to move it on. Volume, pan, active bass and treble eq. Ash body. Zoot logo on body is fading away gradually. Could do with a new set of strings if you like em' zingy, but everything works fine and dandy. Sorry about rubbish pic, Will try to get some better ones up later tonight [attachment=52211:zoot_1.jpg] £360 ovno I'm in North Wales. Happy to remove neck and send by courier at buyers expense. Cheers Paul
  19. Just a quick 'Bore da' to my fellow N Walians and a heads up to Ben who has helped me out in the past, and whom I can highly recommended as a fantastic player with a professional attitude. Hello to Steve, Owen and Nathan too, all wonderful people ! Paul
  20. Hi Guzzibass I'll take this if its still available. Cheers Paul edit. oh bother. . .too late ?, shouldn't have gone for a dump !
  21. I bought a usb mic from StanS and it was a pleasure doing business. No hassles at all. Cheers Stan Paul
  22. Thanks for the link Wayne. That at least shows there is more scope for a battery powered amp than the Pignose currently offers, although I wouldn't want to pay that much for the privilege. Here's another idea. Could I use my East J Retro as a preamp in the amp instead of the bass with a little modding. Hi Casapete, will let you know if I get anywhere with this. Any other Pignose owners out there ? Didn't somebody here build a BFM Omni 10.5 and then stick a little 5 watt amp in there. I seem to remember it worked ok for fun. Any advice on possible speaker/s etc welcome. still don't the ohmage yet tho, Is there a way to test this ? And finally, Am I just being silly or d'ya think its a go'er ? P.
