  1. Only the Bass player and a few other musos know the value...the rest are oblivious its great to be able to play one at a live venue though
  2. This is the best I can do my friend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rWifC0SRW8
  3. Well done you guys who sussed it was the cursed cigarette...not only bored bass players but guitarist too used this trick to on endless 12 bar blues solos etc. sorry no prizes this time as the cupboard is bear after Xmas..🤔
  4. For the eagled eyed and "Vintage " players among us will probably be able to spot this, as the younger players who never experienced the delights a cancer infested smokey pub /club /gig perhaps not.....no offence or discrimintion intended folks 🤐 note the dark mark near the tuning peg E string..what is it? headstock is a 1962 Jazz
  5. As an owner of a 1962 restored Jazz bass as time passes and instruments get older they will need some extra TLC and possible replacement parts i.e. pots frets bridge nut etc. even those that are locked away and never used.. it seems everyone wants a prestine condition vintage but few take the plunge and decide to actually buy one due to the cost of ownership look around at antique furniture paintings vintage cars etc. most have had some restoration done at sometime my bass at the time of writing this (2021) is 59 years old to be able to play it live / studio or otherwise it will need some work done they all will the alternative is to lock it away in a case somewhere and never use it which isnt what I want on reflection I prefer a restored used instrument ( all my basses and guitars are secondhand ) Im not afraid to take her out and play live if it gets a knock its not the end of the world it can be fixed / restored mended I paid more for my car at present than the bass..the car is devaluing daily unlike the Jazz.. just my view guys yours will probably be different...
  6. Thanks Guys appreciate your help....😃👌

  9. just to add a comment what people probably dont realise is that there buying a work of art not a can of beans so to speak..which is the same price more or less wherever you go in the country what one person percieves as expensive another sees as not you can spend £10- 75k + on a car and drive it off the showroom and it will devalue instantly let alone over the next 5+ years
  10. Agree with you there friend..most people would rather spend the money on a new car or holiday..but not everyone has the love of old vintages..
  11. Any bass or guitar boils down to personal preference and how much you can afford IMO..and Ive played plenty probably more than most on here I started playing in the early 60s absolute with crap gear clawed my way up to better stuff

  15. I recently bought a vintage Jbass from Daniel, at that time I had just come out of hospital and was unable to collect, I wasn't keen on using couriers either, I told him of my dilemma and he actually went out of his way to personally deliver it add to the mix that on that day I unexpectedly ended up in A&E and wasn't even home at the arranged time, fortunately my wife was and all ended well so I found him to be honest, reliable and a thoroughly decent human being....Thanks Daniel you're a true star *
