  1. 20 years into the furure and some young players will be saying WoW those vintage 60's 70's 80's P&J Bass's were cheap in the 2023's cost of living crisis I sold a 1968 Gibson les paul for Β£500 many years ago along with a 1973 Pbass for Β£750 a few years later.. at the time I had a young family and needed the cash.. they both would have made great investments though...

  3. Bog Standard Olympic White..Fab neck and excellent to play, pups are a bit weak in comparrison to modern versions but the old girls over 61 years old and can still do the job colour is a personal choice and makes no difference to the sound it produces IMHO πŸ™‚

Ive played and owned lots of bass's from Rickenbackers Musicman Stringray Fender Pbass (1973) and 1966 but I prefer Vintage JBass (1962) fantastic neck the pickups maybe weak but nothing a good amp cant sort out at least you get two pups with a Jazz unlike a Pbass which is one cut in two everyone has there own preference..theres a lot of choice out there πŸ˜‰

  19. Buying a guitar or bass is always a personal choice, when I was young all I could afford was absolute rubbish instruments there is always something to suit all budgets, I personally love the older stuff... ps. bought a house first then much later bought the vintage stuff..
  20. If I were a young player Id be buying.. yes you need to inspect them and know what youre buying ideally direct from the previous owner or a reputable retailer what one person finds expensive to another is fairly priced ...in 5-10 years time todays prices will look like a bargain..IMO
  21. I left school at 14 years old, these things happened in the 20th century, my first bass was made by a UK manufacturer WEM who made amplification too I clawed my way up the ladder Fender Mustang.. Pbass.. Rickernbacker 4001 stero bass with stereo amplification..(I should be deaf ).. MM Stingray, eventually owner of a 1962 Jazz bass and Fender Stratocaster from the same year ...(not bad for someone with learning difficulties ) and zero education..
  22. Lollipop tuners came out around 1966 I believe, those look almost new
