1. Yes this is still available .... Prefer a sale ... But will trade if I really like something
2. Hi just north of Cardiff, near to Pontypridd South Wales.
3. Thank you for your comments ... It is still in great condition ... And is a great head .... It just doesn't get used 😕
4. For sale is this pretty mint all valve head from Markbass .... Acquired here with a trade from MB1 no less a few moons ago .... It's a great head and based on the Ampeg SVT Classic head but is about half the weight ..... No issues at all and comes with custom made flight case http://www.andertons.co.uk/bass-combos/pid11428/cid687/markbass-classic-300-classic-series-amp.asp
5. I can confirm the Alesis does charge your ipad while in use and does have two lines out .... You can also operate it with a foot switch ... Which is great .... Saves waiting for the, it seems never to be released Bluetooth foot switch by positive grid .... And most importantly it does give more protection to your ipad when playing live .... Which is something I always worry about when I go out with the Sonic port
6.
I was doing some googling to see if there was a solution to the issue of charging the ipad whilst using it, and I found a pass through adapter that has a micro usb port to allow charging, it appears to be primarily designed to solve the issues that aftermarket iphone/ipad cases can cause with accessories and docking stations, but maybe worthy of further research. http://www.amazon.co...r/dp/B003TJR2HS Just to be clear, I am not recommending this and haven't bought or tested it, just thought it might be relevant to the thread.
A solution would be the Alesis io dock ..... less cabling than the Toneport too .... as you dont have to use a DI box
7. I use this setup too .... But I add a DI box in the mix too .... As I thought if you were putting the sonic port into the fx return on your amp ... Anything coming out of the DI of that amp to the PA would be just clean guitar signal .... Totally unaffected ... Is this correct? My set up is Guitar > sonic port > DI box > fx return > the DI in the middle of the chain also goes into the PA ... I use a aguilar tonehammer for the DI and a TC Classic 450 for the power amp
8.
Sounds interesting! I may give it a shot...plus I guess it also applies to guitars as well as bass. When DI'ing, are you guys just going into a DI box from the Sonic Port? Another option I suppose is to use it as 'options' for a live rig and use a small Class D amp and change whatever you like on the input or use it in the effects return.
Yes from the Sonic Port to the DI ... The DI back into the return effects port ... With the DI also going into the Pa .... If you use the DI from from your head/ power amp into the PA ... You will only get a naked guitar sound front of house .... Kind of defeating the point really.
9.
I'm not going to argue with cliffyspliff, as that's the Classic 450 head that he just bought from me! I would still have it except for the fact that I can barely justify having 3 bass heads, let alone 4! Sean, glad you're enjoying it mate. It worked for me and I'm pleased it's working for you
Yes very pleased Graeme ... I play in a heavy rock covers band and totally agree with the comments that the classic 450 compliments this sort of music. So if your looking for a tidy bass head and you play heavy rock ... It could just be the thing your looking for
10. I've done a few gigs now through my Ipad with Bias and Jamup pro .... And the sound has really been great ..... It's great to get the sound you actually want through headphones ..in virtual silence .. And you know that is the exact sound that will be going into your cabs and/or PA on gig night I can't wait for the foot controller to be released
11. It was the first gig I used the TC stuff last night and with the RS cabs it sounded great.... I had two markbass combos in the past ... Cmd102p ... And they both blew fuses at the kettle lead input ... A critical defect apparently ... Luckily they were under warranty .... Even with the NY extension cab ... I was never blown away by the sound ... It seemed to struggle in a loud environment I have been playing live recently using my IPad and the Bias and Jamup pro apps ... Which sound awesome ... So I got a TC Classic basically to use it's power amp section and it's light weight... So I just thought last night I'd give it a go on it's own to see how it stood up ... Very impressed
12. Agreed ... Ok I'll say its a lot more punchy and hits harder if that makes sense
13. Just did a deal with Graeme for a TC Classic head. Good communication throughout and a pleasure to do business with. Thank you
14. Was going to use Bias/Jam up pro at our gig on the weekend using the poweramp stage from my Markbass CL300 ...... unfortunately it didnt occur to me that using the return socket on the head would give power to my speakers but using the DI on the head wont give a signal to the PA ....This is worth bearing in mind if you go through the PA at all your gigs .... I have an Aguilar Tonehammer DI pedal that I will introduce into the chain at the next gig ....so hopefully this should rectify this.
15. I had the 2x10 combo ..the CMC102P..in fact i had two of them from brand new .....the first one blew a fuse on the main circuit board ...The one underneath where the kettle lead goes in ..... Was repaced by GAK .... The second brand new one from GAK then did exactly the same thing after about 6 months use. They did send a new one which I the traded on here as i lost my confidence in the combo lol. I play in a rockband and I used to to use the combo with the NY 112 extension cab (traded on here also) and to me the whole set up lacked bottom end ..... you could never get that feeling where the bass playing really his you in the chest sort of thing. Im actually still using a Markbass head though .... The all valve Markbass classic 300...( Traded for the combo and cab) which paired with a 4x10 and 1x15 cabs is much better .... but I guess its much more expensive kit too. The new stuff isnt made in Italy now either. Best of luck.
