Despite me love of Fender Precision basses, and still owning my first ever real Precision, I have never played it live. I love the look of them, the simplicity, and have owned numerous, and various versions, over the years, but for some reason they just don’t work for me. I love the Precision pickup, but for me, it just lacked that something which I later found out was a Jazz pickup. My Spector’s do all that I really want, and more. Can’t see me going anywhere else soon. I still look at Precision posts when they pop up though. Just something about that aesthetic. 

How is this still here? If certain plans come to fruition, and this is still here which I doubt, I will be in touch. I’d love to have this along with another Spector I’m looking at ☺️

It makes it Steve Harris’s bass because it is based on his specs. His no.1 was originally black, then he got it resprayed blue sparkle which I gave to say, is still the colour mist Maiden fans from that time, prefer. He also has a ‘59 resprayed in black and white chequers.

Like any signature bass, what makes them a signature bass……. The spec, and the signature.

I 2nd that about the Steve Harris bass. The WH livery is the only reason I don’t own one. I wish the made either the blue sparkle, the blue crackle, or even the lesser known candy apple red one which was the inspiration to customise my ‘86 P bass.

As I said, across the board. Scary times. 

It’s been interesting, and equally scary, to see how prices across the board have risen so much in recent times. Bass gear is clearly not exempt from such inflationary influences. It flabbergasts me to see how much gear has shot up in the past 6 months, let alone the past 12-18 months. We’ll soon need mortgages for many things other than houses. 
 

I wonder how long the top end of the market can genuinely compete at that level of pricing? I’ve been fortunate to buy very lovely basses over the part decade, and recently bought some higher end basses in the past 6-12 months. To buy the equivalent today, I’d need an extra 50%. How sustainable is this?

As I said, just an observation, but a situation that makes exploration a little tougher. Even the 2nd hand market is a tough one at the moment, and understandably. Anyway, I’ll shut up now. Cheers ☺️

Also the Spector website appears to have changed - there’s no longer a section for the Fortes, NS Bolt Ons or NS Neck Thrus. Looks like all USA models are now from what they are calling the Custom Shop.

I actually think is an NS-2. If you look at the back of the headstock, it says NS-2. I have 2 Forte’s and yes the prices have risen a lot, but not by that much.

Hey buddy, I feel that maybe a small PA system that you can run your Quad Cortex, your backing tracks, and vocals through. In real terms you will need a max of 8 inputs for future proofing, and some aux out for monitoring. IEM’s I take it? Good luck my friend ☺️

This is simply stunning. Not usually a fan of big flame tops, but this is gorgeous. If I had the disposable, I’d actually go for this. GLWTS ☺️

I really can’t see the benefit of two separate threads given it’s on exactly the same subject. The 100’s of posters in that previous thread will now had notifications of further comments where they may have missed the new thread. I honestly thought it was beneficial for everyone. The Mods seemed to agree.

My thread was merely a “thank you” to BD, and to just acknowledge my gratitude for the years of help they had shown me. It was never intended as a review thread. I was merely being appreciative of a company, and of the people who worked there. 
 

We’ll leave it there. I love this place, but if I want sarcasm, I’ll stick with the socials. No harm done, and thanks for taking the time to reply. Respect.

PS No one complained, just stated that it was a shame they were merged, especially based on one person’s suggestion. If I remember correctly, this place is here for everyone to comment without being ridiculed for that opinion?
