I’m on the fence with this. This all seems to be more like a Fender, or an another brand, when saying it’s a custom. The specs are defined rather than truly being a hand made instrument. I’ll always be a Spector fan, but now one is just ordering a limited spec’d bass at simply ridiculous prices. Go 2nd hand and buy something unique, or go Euro and save a fortune. Just my opinion, as an owner of 2 US Spector beauties, with another incoming ☺️

Thank you buddy. If I could justify having 3 US Spector basses, this would not be going. You are also correct, in today’s current market, this is a steal at this price for a bonafide rare, Stuart Spector era bass. Who ever gets this has bagged a really beautiful bass ☺️

I keep coming back to this. I have no real experience of Jazz basses, but I love Geddy Lee and his playing/sound. I hope someone buys this so I no longer have that urge to splurge. GLWTS.

I bought a bass from Bass Bros on Thursday, which will arrive next week. Will, as always, was brilliant to deal with. My first purchase there, and definitely not my last. Yes, you are right, solid maple wings, even more tempted now. 

 

Does it have the TonePump? I cannot see the control cavity. Maybe it has the Aguilar OBP-1 that they used between 01 and 03. The first version of the Tonepump started in 03 but I don't now if there was a transition period (i.e., they switched to the TP sometime during 03).

 

It is a bit heavy though (4.37kg), although I am only playing sitting down anyway. Man, I am tempted 😍

The first Dingwall bass I’ve been interested in since I moved mine on back in 2011. Not normally a signature bass kind of guy, but this sounds wonderful. Unfortunately, not the right time to pull the trigger on one of these. I look forward to hearing all about them from the people who have been lucky enough to bag one ☺️
