Close, but the headstock doesn't look quite right without the original's fat walnut stripe. They seem to have gone for the thin skunk stripe of the 4003 for some reason.

(The original headstock was my favourite thing about the 4005).

I saw this bass in a video - blew my head off as an emerging manc bass player.

”NOEL’S PLAYING A RICKY BASS! WTF is it?!”

Always thought it was a bit of a dig that the first post-Guigsy oasis tune had a really prominent bass part.

I used to actually sit through this Oasis video when it came on the telly, just to see that bass. No idea if it's the one we're hearing, but it's a pretty cool line nonetheless!

    What doesn’t it do! Ha.

At its core it’s a distortion pedal and bitcrusher, but allows for incredible manipulation of the signal by slamming it into one of a bazillion wave tables. This Pro version also has saveable patches that can be recalled. Multiple expression control and a blend (which the original badly needed).

It’s basically a noise makers dream come true with near unlimited noisy, digitalised, overdriven and low fi sounds, as well as really great drive and bit crushing/sample rate reduction tones.

I understand some of that 🤣

It’s been my grail pedal since it was released. I used the regular version for many tours but I’ve finally got my hands on the Pro.

Easily one for the best pedals I’ve ever used. I’ve been messing with it daily for a month now and I’m in constant awe.

    What does it do?!

  5. Fantastic! Doubtless far beyond affordable, but it's wonderful to see them back. Why they didn't do this instead of the Mickey Mouse 4005 in the first place is beyond me but they got there in the end!

Dear old JH always swore he'd never reissue these 😄

I think the newer models may have been tweaked a bit.

I got mine brand new at the end of 2022 and was suprised that the two things that most people seem to have a problem with, the bridge (particulary with regards to intonation) and the stock strings, weren't an issue for me.

I've owned two, the first was one of the early ones in white. My current pink model is a much better instrument, the old one felt a bit... rickety. And the nut seemed to be made of nougat.

I guess if you have it on as "always on" you can always eq the low back in

To some extent, yes. I run it in front of whatever preamp pedal I'm using at the time and crank the lows on that fair bit.

I only use it at home so it's not much of an issue anyway.

  8. This cheap little thing, eats a bit of low end but sounds just like plugging into an old Marshall. Sounds like heaven with a single-coil Precision.

Switch to heavier stings so it feels more like a bass guitar and the vibrato stops working

This wasn't my experience at all, and the vibrato can be adjusted so there's no reason it shouldn't work fine with different strings.

I love mine dearly, it isn't my main instrument so I can forgive it's eccentricities. I definitely play it more as a bass though, front two pickups with plenty of palm mute, instant Helter Skelter! Although the back two pickups with reverb is great for Jet Harris impersonations.

It's definitely bigger than you'd expect too 😄

As for BT , they're infinity set top box was pants when I was with them . Being told my wardrobe was the problem with their crap signals proves how rubbish they were . When I moved home , they sent a letter threatening me with debt collectors to my post office temporary address for £38 . Thing is I settled up when I moved , but their administration system said otherwise .Also, they were the last utility company to get disconnected when I moved . Truly awful company .

I could put Unilever , procter and gamble and edf also . However, as procter and gamble and Unilever have so many household staple items , it would be nigh on impossible to avoid completely . As for Edf , they are one of the big energy companies that are going nowhere and smaller companies can still be swallowed up , amalgamated or dissolved etc. If edf stopped harassing me for smart meters they wouldn't be a problem .

Apple for example should be on my list , but I still use their electronics .

    Ha! "Woke".
