2.
So where's this bass terror
Thou shallt have them tonight after practice.
  3.
If it's a passive EQ, I wonder where the flat tone lies? Doesn't setting all knobs at noon usually result in a mid scoop with these EQs?
I got a very flat response with the EQ at 12. Crank the gain and you can coax out some very nice, orangey tube saturation/warmth. It really has surpassed my expectations and sounds incredible in a band situation.

    M9 Gas
I really like the Fuzzes on the M9. It's the Octaver and Wah's which disappoint for me. Still a seriously good unit though and well worth the money.
The Pi Fuzz is very useful, you're right they aren't as bad as some make out. Really though the delays, 'verbs and some of the modulations are amazing.
  5.
Top banana. I'll hang onto it for a week or so, and then we'll plot'n'scheme.
No hurry regards me, i'm eager to compare/contrast with some stuff and know another couple of folk my way that'd be intrigued to hear it too.
  6. To be fair, Ben Gibbard is really one helluva musician...
  7.
We could meet halfway, to save me shipping it?
What a fine idea.
  8. And then to me in Edinburgh, i can pick it up from anywhere in Fife and deliver even to the Weeg..
  9. Ste, what do you think 2x410 or the one 8x10? Merits of having one over another?
  10. I asked for Green, but they were all out, so i settled for orange..
  11.
Well that cab is £400 not £350 due to the more expensive drivers. Still freakin cheap when you look at what else you can buy new for £450
Shipping was £30, but i dunno where the other £20 came from. I'm not grudging it though, i would've paid several hundred quid more.
  12.
You've got the Monz Model 2x12 no wonder you hurt your arm that thing is like 10kg's heavier than mine, but defo louder and fuller
It also cost me near enough £450 to get it to my door
  13.
I know a cab's a cab, and when you're palying you don't really look at it, but I think they look so much better on their sides. Makes it look a bit more meaty if you ask me
They look meaty any way up!
  14.
Yeah man would be a lot of fun, I can run a lot of cabs off my main rig wall of doom
Well, it would likely be around the time of the UK tour, so maybe by then i'll have the 410's... how much could you run off your rig? This could be quite an experiment in sound pressure levels..
  15. Any excuse.
  16.
As well people as an open invite if anyone find them self lost in Manchester and wants to have a go on any of this they are more than welcome.
I reckon when we head down your way next year i will have to make a compulsory stop off.
  17.
Yeah I got mine so it's 4 and 16ohms you just have to request it upon ordering, Jeff doesn't read minds, but I use tube amps so some of my vintage amps are 16 and 8 ohms only and they all put the same wattage out regardless of impedance, you could always get a series cable from OBBM to run two 4ohm cabs at 8ohms
Well, i did ask for 4ohm I'm not complaining, i wanted the 4ohm for use with the BT, as i have no plans to add another cab for a while. I intend to run this as a mini rig and next year get the GT200 and some more cabinetry for that.. in green. I wasn't aware you could get those cables! I suppose that opens more options up. Might treat myself to a 4x10 in the new year in that case. An orange and green cab atop each other might look odd, but meh
  18.
Very nice, I like the piping I would have got some if I had done it on any of my other cabs. These cabs are soo good, I'm yet to try 2 together though I need Umcoo to come to mine should have really done it while we were at Matamp together
Yeah, i'd be intrigued too. My only slight qualm is i got it in 4ohm, and not switchable. Its 900W though, well says 800W on the back, but i think thats just to remind me not to go nuts.
  19. Well, it just came 'in the post' now, very very well packaged i might add... in the thralls of excitement i lifted it with one arm out the box and think i've knackered my back, oh well - it was worth it i think I'll get pics of it tomorrow, with my Orange Bass Terror on it! Its going to be my practice/rehearsal rig and 'go-to' gig rig for now anyway. Next year will hopefully bring with it a GT200 and couple of 410's.. Will report back after i use it on Thursday at a pretty decent gig.
  20. I've never been in a band with people i don't like or get on with. I don't see why you'd want to be there in the first place if you really don't like someone..
  21.
Zooey Deschanel? Put me down for one of those please
Unfortunately this bugger got to her first mate:

    M9 Gas
gassing for an M9, but I can't decide if I really need one - hopefully someone will have some opinions of how it performs on bass in a band situation I've heard samples of some of the more 'esoteric' models, but I wanted to know - can it do a reasonable gated fuzz a la woolly mammoth? (the facial fuzz model maybe?) what about drive, grit and grunt effects? tia
It really is a great unit, i thoroughly enjoy using it just as much as my band enjoys hearing it. I love a couple of fuzz sounds that i tweaked with for agggess, but generally speaking they're not GREAT, certainly not as good as the delays, reverbs, modulations etc.
  23. Right: Matamp GT200... but i can't bear myself to even post pictures.
  24. I'm tempted to buy this, despite already having an M9 - bargain price is that.
  25. What do you mean by dance music? Are we talking Rock 'n Roll, Swing, Soul R&B.... or 90's dance, Eurodance, techno etc? If its the latter, i honestly don't think Electric double bass would be used much by producers, thats not to say it'd be ridiculous to use it though it does mean lessons to accommodate that kind of playing with be scarce.
