3.
Gosh darn that's pretty, I also own an early LPB Jazz, wonderful.
Thanks Wayne - I also still have one. Anyone want to take it off my hands?
4. Just to add, I'd love to accept trades but I'm unable too as I need to pay off a recent purchase. Unless anyone wants to throw in an Aguilar Tone Hammer as a part ex.
5. Hi All, My third bass for sale in as many weeks. This one if a '94 - '95 Lake Placid Blue Fender Japanese Jazz, serial number T023720 owned by me from new. It is a stock instrument with the exception of Dunlop straplocks (included along with a Fender strap) It's in good condition for an instrument that is 16 years old. The paint on the front has no chips or marks while the back is also in good condition with a bit of buckle rash (not from me!). The sides have a couple of small knocks, the worst of which I have tried to show here. There is also a chip to the headstock: The bass was my main axe '95 to '01 after which I bought a Warwick and a US Precision. Since then it hasn't had much use and has spent it's life either in it's case (included) or hanging on the wall. The case is in fair condition, still structurally sound but it has taken a few knocks in it's life, is missing two rubber feet and has several cracks. The bass plays well and sounds great. Like I said, it was my main axe for a long time and was then retired. I'm only selling it now because I recently bought a new bass and my better half insists that I sell some other basses to cover the costs :-( Now at £500, based on pricing advice I received on the forum in April. I am in Medway, Kent and a prospective buyer is welcome to come and try the bass. Shipping would be at the buyers expense but I may also be prepared to meet someone somewhere to do the exchange, depending on distance. Any questions, please ask. Cheers, Doug
6. Hi Stuart - will it have the same spine as your John Entwistle book? The quality of the book and the transcriptions is top notch but it's impossible to lie the book flat for reading. I have to copy the part out onto manuscript paper or scan and print each page which is a real pain. Maybe other people have mentioned it before but I find it's a real pain and puts me off buying other books - and the Jamiroquai one is one I'd definately buy. Cheers, Doug
7. There's one of these on ebay with a Buy-It-Now of £200. I think it's a steal at that price - anyone want to offer me £200 for it?
8. Giving this a bump before it goes on ebay at the weekend.

Feedback for gub

Gavs a great bloke to deal with. He bought my fretless jazz off me and it was a nice and smooth transaction. Cheers, Doug
10. Hi All, I have for sale a Takamine EG512C Acoustic Bass Guitar in very good condition. I bought the bass about 8 years ago from Mansons in Exeter and since then it has been used very little. On the few times I've played the bass I needed to be stood up so I have added Dunlop straplocks. It is unmarked except for a small ding in the top below the strap button: Fitted with a Takamine preamp (which works well) the instrument plays well both through a PA and acoustically. Some other general shots of the bass Comes with it's own large, padded gigbag These sell online for ~£475 (without a gigbag) so I am going to start the sale at £300. Now reduced to £200. I'm based in Rochester, Kent and you are welcome to come and try the instrument. I would prefer a local pickup but am happy to get the bass sent anywhere in the UK at the buyers expense. Thanks for looking and please let me know if you have any questions. Doug
11. I'll give this a bump now that people are home from work :-)
12. The fretless is now for sale here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=135570 I'll add the blue fretted towards the end of the month when I get it back from my Dad. Thanks for all your help guys.
13. Hi All, To fund the purchase of a new axe, I'm selling off some of my unused instruments - here's the first. A japanese Fender Jazz unlined fretless in white/cream. The serial number is V010505 which dates it as a 96-97 instrument which tallies with the 50th Anniversary sticker on the back of the headstock. I bought the bass, new from Kingfisher (I think it was called) in Fleet in '97. I've not played it much and so it's in very good condition for a 14 year old instrument. It's completely stock except for the strap buttons which I have replaced with Schaller strap locks. It plays well and sounds great. It has a couple of dings on the body, both on the lower side (pictures below). These are the only marks I could see. I'm asking £350 to start with. The bass is in Rochester, Kent but you are welcome to come and try it before buying. I'd prefer a local pickup but I'm sure we could work something out if you live further afield. If you have any questions then please get in touch. No case/gigbag - sorry. Thanks for looking, Doug
14.
I think you would get £900 - £1000 for the two Jazzes, but I doubt you would get £650 for one of them. The fretted one will go for more, partly because it's a very popular colour and partly because there aren't too many fretless players around.
You misunderstand me - what I meant was that selling both Jazzes and making £650 in total will make me a happy man. Unfortunately my Father has the fretted one on long term loan so I'll have to get it back before I can sell it - I can start selling the fretless right away. I have to admit to being a bit sceptical that I'll get close to £900 for the pair but I'm happy to eat humble pie :-) Cheers, Doug
15.
That blue Fender looks amazing.
Thanks - I've always thought she was a bit of looker too!
16. Thanks Guys - even £300 for each Fender is considerably more than I was expecting (although I haven't sold them yet!). My target is £650 so this is a welcome piece of good news. I might take some decent pictures of the fretless and list it on the forum this evening. If anyone has an idea of the Takamines worth I would be still be interested. The Washburn is my first instrument and parting with it would be very hard, especially if it's worth bugger all! Cheers, Doug
17. Hi All, I'm looking for some help pricing a few instruments that I'm not using anymore. A trip to my local music store yesterday prompted a bad case of GAS. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of spare cash and my better half has forbidden me buying any more basses without moving on some of the others. So here's what I've got - could some kind person give me some ideas what they're worth please? I could part-ex them for a new bass but I'd get a better price selling them privately. Once I know what I could get I'll be able to make a decision on whether to sell and buy a new bass or just keep the lot. Japanese Fender Jazz in Lake Placid Blue, good condition, with a few dings and a small bit of buckle rash. In a Fender hard case (beaten up but still sound) with Dunlop strap locks. Approx 15 years old. Japanese Fender Fretless Jazz in white/cream. This is pretty much unplayed but does have a chip to the paint on one side. Approx 11 years old, it's got a 50 years of excellence sticker on the back of the headstock. Dunlop straplocks again. Washburn MB8 in transparent red. This is really old, I must have bought it in '94. Again it's got straplocks and is in ok condition but with a chip to the paint on the rear. It's got status pickups and a meaty 18v active circuit. I've had the cavity shielded too. Takamine EG512C, acoustic bass guitar. This is mint condition other than the added Dunlop straplocks. Big, padded case included. My apologies if this type of thing isn't allowed but I could do with the help Cheers, Doug
18.
I'll take the ebs please!
EBS Sold pending payment Cheers, Doug
19. Hi All, I have for sale an EHX Bass Big Muff, boxed with instructions. I've had the pedal about 9 months and it's not had much use and is in good condition. I have removed the original rubber feet but these are included in the box and could be easily reattached. In their place I've added a large strip of Velco to attach the pedal to my board. I'd like £35 (posted) for it. I also have an old EBS OctaBass, again in good condition and boxed with instructions. I've had this for a long time but it still works well. This is one of the earliest models and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have true bypass of the newer version. It does track well though and sounds great. This also has a big strip of velcro on the bottom but could be easily removed. £35 posted for this too please. Any questions, please ask. Cheers, Doug
