1. Sorry to kinda hi-jack, but, what do people reckon of this SX? http://www.rondomusic.com/spjashlefty.html
2. Two very similar basses, same electronics; what are everyone's opinions? Any good, which one is better etc. Comments appreciated, thanks

Come across a decent looking bass, and after googling the brand and yielding no results, thought I'd ask on here.. The bass in question is: http://www.waltons.ie/Product/View.aspx?id=28448 . Ash body, nice finish. Seems pretty good to me for the price. Nice headstock too although I probably won't be using the neck if I got it... So, has anyone ever heard of them before? If so, what are they like? It seems judging by the product page, basses/guitars aren't their main thing: http://www.waltons.ie/product/manufacturer.aspx?mid=70
4.
I bought a cheap painted body for about £40 off e bay, it wasnt heavy, appeared to be solid wood not plywood, and the finish was excellent. The problem you may have with some of the bodes and neck is the fit between the 2 as not all p bass bodies and necks are the same.
Did you put all the hardware on yourself? I'm not very good at that type of stuff. Also, I'm left-handed, and there's hardly anything out there, definately no 'blank' bodies
5. Anyone got any brand suggestions? As I say I'd definately change the P'ups (swap the stock for a Delano, add the MM at the bridge in time possibly) and get a very slim neck on it, so it really is just a cheap bass with a decent body. I've been checking ebay and internet stores but there really isn't many LH basses. Anyone got any tips or anything would be much appreciated
6. Hi guys, anyone got a P-bass body/J-bass neck up for sale? Even better, maybe both!? PM me if you have, I'll listen to anything
7. Thanks guys, basically my plan is; 4 string bass with a P-bass body and a Jazz width neck, with a Delano P pickup and Hybrid MM/J pickup at the bridge wired to be fully switchable with some type of active pre-amp. At a rough estimate, this way it will come to around £450 (excluding the cost of the work as I probably wont be able to do it myself, it shouldn't be too much, right?). I think that it'd be cheaper and as effective as buying an unfinished body and doing it all myself, as I won't have to pay for the refinish and all the little bits of hardware. That's why I'm asking for a budget P-bass that has decent hardware. I've seen alot of good things written about SX, am I right in saying they're the best in the market for their price? Lewis
8.
Nice try. The thing with the 2x12 is that aside from the fact that it is only 1kg heavier, it actually comes equipped with its own built in 'tilt-and-roll' caster system... not sure that the 210 has that! Saying that; at this weight the 2x12 combo inc 500w amp weighs the same as ONE of my Aggie 1x12 cabs and is an easy one handed lift by either the top handle or one of the side recessed handles.
The 210 also has the tilt and roll system mate, it's very useful isn't it! The specs are literally the same AFAIK, apart from weight, and also the speaker frequencies are bound to be slightly different

10. How about a trade for the 210 combo? It's a Kg lighter

12. I've had a look around the pimping up threads, but failed to find a conclusive answer to a question I pose; what budget P-bass has the best body for use in a bit-part bass? Looking to make a P-bass with a Jazz neck, put an active circuit in etc. I've seen SX recommended, but I'm more specifically on about solely the body as I would not get on with a P-bass neck, therefore aslong as the body is good, I'm not arsed about the neck being a dog Cheers!
13.
Maybe it's just the camera or something, but the headstock face kinda looks a bit lighter in the decal zone. Just my 2p.
Yeah, I noticed that, just wasn't sure if it was some light hitting it or not
14. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Left-Handed-Fender-P...=item1c0dfb03a3 The decal looks abit iffy to me (but what do I know), and seeming though he couldn't discern between a Jazz and a P I thought it'd be best to check before I bid Thanks
15. It's too late/early for maths, so, how many would I need for Dimensions (W x H x D): 17” x 25,5” x 16” Thanks Lewis

18.
I would love to play both styles but I find that on anything even slightly fast (way less than 200-260 bpm) I am not metronomic with fingers and occasionally 'catch' them or stumble on the strings. Whereas I can keep a pick going for a long time pretty fast. There'a RHCP song on By The Way that starts simply with a single note played very fast with fingers, shifting register a couple of times. Its actually very simple but there's not a way in the world I could keep up the consistency and smoothness between each note.
Parallel Universe I think

20. Thanks for all the replies guys, at the moment Less Than Jake are coming closest to what I envision as of yet. As for the vocals, and guitar work/sound, I was thinking something akin to Naive by The Kooks. Would that type of thing fuse well with slow, slightly morose basslines ala some ska songs? (All subjective I know, but I'm needing some help piecing it together in my head!) I guess I should add, I'm not looking to start a strictly ska band of such, just try and create a new mix of music that would utilize certain attributes from it
21. Looking to start a band focusing on the slower, more Ska end of the spectrum but still using rock influences to keep it modern. I have this song as a basis for the music I envision (with a different vocal style!): Propagandhi - Haille Sellasse... Anyone know of other bands/songs like this? Thanks Lewis
22. Any way of putting u-box into full English?
