3.
I never think rosewood is that attractive kind of like a wenge top (like wenge necks but not really tops).
ive never been keen on Rosewood fretboards , like it as a top on my kingbass (right) the kingbass on the left is also rosewood top.
4. the Status series 3000 i had was Cherry, i recall it was quite heavy and had a good tone.
5. i would estimate around £300 as well.
6. I think what you need to do is try one first , a lot of people buy a kingbass to find they don't get on with the body shape, there is a thread about that on the forum somewhere.
7. do we need a string Porn thread to help people identify stings?
8. Driving down from West london, can pick up from Central line / Met at Ruislip,, could pick up on route, >>uxbridge >>windsor >>slough Room for 1 person + a bass or 2
9.
yes totally. However I really hate the way that drummers can forget the ENTIRE setlist after a break, often within hours!
in my experience that can be after a 10min Tea Break.
10. a good bit of graphite weave ;-)
11.
Really like the look of the Streamline. Is there anywhere you can try these other than a trip to Status HQ?
I will have mine at the SE bash, and the next Northampton one , whenever that will be. I can't see Rob outsourcing, as CK said Rob likes to be hands on in the production. But the same could be said for any of our bespoke bass makers in the uk, Im sure there would be a few people who would buy a Korean Made Shuker/GB/JD for half the price, but would it still be the real thing? As for the need to produce a cheaper Status all graphite bass, when i called to order mine it was a 12 week wait, Dawn told me they were unable to make any Streamliners to have as "in stock" as they were selling them before they were complete, so i figure they are not having any trouble selling them at the current price. I love my Streamliner & hopefully I will have the funds to get a 5er soon
12. Moo, i'm sure you might have a few more pix of your other Statii to show the people ;-)
13. Bought Back My 83 Precision from Steve, nice and easy to deal with, and i even got cake when i went round, !!!!
14.
Anyone got an all-graphite Series 2000? If so pics please for me to drool over.
This one belongs to Bassman556 over on Statii
15.
Status series 3000. Spalted beech top and refinish done by Jon Shuker.
I was considering getting my 3000 toped with some nice quilted maple, but never got round to it.
16. I only have KB Prototype #4 , another member of Statii has #1 & 2, if i recall #5 is in france and the whereabouts of #3 is unknown. The Series 3000 was sold to fund the KB, so im just down to the KB#4 & Streamline, though gas for another Streamline gets me from time to time!
17. and my series 3000 that i had before the kingbass I fitted a OBP3 pre amp to this
18. Hmmmm Lovely Lovely King Bass Prototypes 1,2 & 4
19. i think Nick said it was a one off color, looked very nice in "person"
