Thank you all - I nearly bought the Bassmaster Player as well 😃
What flatwounds do you use? I was thinking Rotosound, but I have D'Addario flats on the guitar (quite bright).

Thank you all - Peerless' are perfectly made, so I'd recommend any model. The 'retro' ones don't look as good, but play and sound great and they don't export anymore.
My guitar was a special edition for Ivor Mairants in London, but it has an underwound '57 classic that doesn't suit me - I'd prefer something 'plummier'. It also has a solid maple top as opposed to the laminate.
The pickups and hardware on the bass are brilliant, so it sounds just like you'd want it to, with plenty of wallop if needed. It is wearing rounds at the moment though.
I'd love to see the natural version @Johnboybassman - I think that would be the best finish, considering how flashy the grain is! Hard to capture on camera for the red.

Dean Paramount 4 (Made in South Korea)
£550 new and in 'new old stock' condition with original branded (faux?) leather gigbag.
These are a bit special if you can find them and this one took me ages to find. It isn't a platform for modding and I'd put it up against anything sub £1,000.
Allegedly the CEO of Dean got involved with designing this one himself, alongside its 'Juggernaut' counterpart - Hopefully you can see how good it is from the below...
Specifications:
Body: Alder
Finish: Three tone sunburst
Neck: U-profile oiled flatsawn maple
Fingerboard: Flatsawn maple cap
Frets: 22 Jumbo
Scale: 34"
Pickup: Dean Magnetic Technologies Split P Humbucker
Hardware: Solid chrome
Strings: D'Addario
Weight: 8.8lbs

I have a fretless SB5000 - It's wonderful. Got that 70s J sound in abundance.

Jeez...I just bought something like this. What's the spec?
-
What scale is it Andy? 32"?

Can anyone guess where he's based?
-
Gah - Shame you're not closer to Cumbria, as I like the G&L
-
Is the pickup original to 19760?
"Refretted by me"...Are you a luthier?
"Prefer collection"...Where are you based?
Grade D - More effort required.
-
Musicman seem to have a problem with neck pockets at the moment - Their guitars are the same.
-
The G&L's in that video sound far richer.
-
Why would you want it to? If anything it will sit in the mix a bit better (Stingrays can be overkill):
Precision > L1000 > Kiloton > Stingray

1 = Lakland
2= Fender
I prefer 1, as I think it has more focus

No nonsense '57 with a slightly hotter pickup - The model made quite a buzz on Talkbass years ago (and completely whooped my Fret King Green Label).
