1.
Chris, congrats but we need pictures.
Hi Dave, with apologies for the delay, here's the evidence I've done the following

Taken it apart, had a good look around and ascertained that, obvious deviations excepted, it's original
Installed a period incorrect Badass III which is the only bridge that will allow me to get the strings and the neck aligned without drilling new holes (you can see the quite extreme angles between the point at which the string comes through the body and the point at which it crosses the saddles).
Replaced the neck tilt bolt with a substantial screw to stabilise the neck
It sounds GLORIOUS, it plays beautifully, and the lipstick blended with the MB is marvellous, as it is soloed. The MB soloed is of course equally glorious and is, despite what a lot of folks appear to believe, entirely useable. Next steps are to get a new neck tilt assembly sorted and to have the lipstick moved upwards a centimetre or so, probably doesn't need it for anything but aesthetic reasons but it being so far off line bugs me And while I'm on though I'd mention these two beauties..... Warmoth Dusty Hill Telebass Does it rock? Do fish have waterproof heads? Fretless Telebass Just getting into this bass but whilst is rather lovely, I'm not sure it's going to stay.
 2. Bump, will listen to offers, happy to talk trades but don't need any more basses or amps thanks. Studio gear, Hi-Fi, and stringed instruments that don't require amps are all on my radar at present

 4.
I've got the score for diamonds on the soles of her shoes, had to learn it for uni a few back.
Hi mate, hope all's well, any chance you could get it to me?
 5. Oh, and could you sort the pics, when you click on them they're even smaller than in the post
 6. Is it UK voltage or does it need a step down transformer?
 7.
Ouch!!!
Yep, guitarists look visibly stunned when they pick up the Strat. Of course, I then direct them to the Telebass saying "If you think the Strat's heavy try this for size........". The only conclusion that they can arrive at is that bass players are REAL MEN. Should point out folks that the bass for sale is actually very light, just got a little sidetracked here
 8.
Hmmm. That would be a good book...! Stu
Ha ha, I was thinking that Stu, how long would it take you
 9. Worked on these lines years ago and having gone back to them think I may have missed a few of the subtleties that make them so magical. Anyone got any good tabs/scores for any of the tracks? Cheers C
 10. Have to say that on reflection the only bass I can say with all honesty me the 'one bass' criterion - although of course I'd prefer to say it was a Precision - was a Jazz fitted with a J-Retro. For some reason it worked better than a Sadowsky P/J although you'd have thought the latter would cover all basses so to speak. Nik is spot on above, as is the post re the 4003, it's as much about how you play what you've got as it is what you've got. C
 11.
MB1. Topic Reopened!
Ha ha, may thanks Martin, not for the first time eh! I've just finished building a new fretless Jazz so this is up for grabs again with either the Weather Report PUPs at £500 or with some Fender USAs at £350 Cheers Chris
 12.
Oh bollox I love the look of it but it has to be <8lbs because of my back, sorry mate . GLWTS
Ah, sorry mate. If it's any consolation I'm working on a newly acquired project 70's Telecaster Bass that weighs close to 12lbs, and I have a mid '70s ash hardtail Strat that weighs close to 10lbs. Both make the Warmoth feel like playing a feather
 13. Apparently it's 8lbs 9oz so 8.57lbs, original estimate pretty much spot on
 14. I'd say about 8.5 lbs and yes Tom, neck straight as a weapon used by a native american and a very nicely adjustable Gotoh bridge Cheers Chris
 15. Karl and I have engaged in a couple of deals recently that have resulted in his getting his hands on a rather lovely La Cab and my being able to put together a phenomenal bitsa Tele. In every respect Karl is an absolute pleasure to deal with and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He's a credit to the forum in every way. Chris
 16.
Hey, Chris Tomas Buchannan Mandolin http://www.folkmando...ts/mandolin.htm Standard model. Unplayed - took it as a swap with Tomas. His current new price is £750+.
Hello mate, long time, hope all's well. Looks lovely but as my current model is a similar shape I'm looking for something a little more Gibson-esque. Many thanks for the offer, no doubt we'll resume trading status again soon C
 17. I'd do Macca, obvious and not obvious at the same time. Over and above his more famous singing and songwriting he's a very inflential bassist.
 18. Call/email John, his customer service is second to none C
 19.
I reckon about one more page until this morphs into a P vs J/ Flats v rounds / maple v rosewood debate!
20. +1 with the addition of a Tech 21 VT Bass. Active bass might also be useful depending on how close to original your band mates want the sound (in response to Jack's post I usually find its them, and not the audience or the bass player, who wants 'authentic' bass tone) C
 21. Just picked up a mid-70s Telecaster Bass in need of a LOT of TLC. Bridge, strings, PUP and neck are horribly misaligned, all made worse by a Kent Armstrong lipstick added in the P-PUP position even further off line. The micro tilt mechanism is broken meaning the neck is held in place by only with two screes, and so it doesn't stay in tune for very long, and the body shows signs of numerous poorly installed bridges and 4-bolt necks over the years. BUT The front PUP (mudbucker) sounds glorious through my V4B. Also, despite being off-line so to speak, the Lipstick soloed has a surprisingly high output and a completely usable tone somewhere between a Jazz and a Precision. Best of all the two PUPs mixed sound like a Precision on steroids, albeit with slightly looser articulation. Furthermore it's in a lovely and naturally roadworn 3tsb. It is a very rock n' roll bass and is going to be shown some love over coming weeks to get it back to where it once was. I'll be keeping y'all posted C
