  1. Think I might look elsewhere - £450 looks steep for something so difficult to identify
  2. Been on the look out for a decent precision and have been offered this MIJ one. Serial number dates it 1984-1987 from fuji-gen factory Not seen one like it before with the black headstock so wondered if anyone knew about these

  4. ARIA PRO II MAGNA SERIES 5 STRING BASS. Excellent condition. Plus gig bag. Looking for £125.00 Early 1997 vintage from the serial number and with hardly a mark on it, it looks almost new and can be described as mint for the age. 2 volume/blend controls and one tone control. Front pickup is a P-Bass style and the rear is a J-Bass style Very light, approximately 8lbs (3.5kg) with 22 fret neck. Width of neck at nut a mere 46mm, width at 12th fret 62mm, so it's extremely narrow, not much more than a lot of 4 string basses. C shaped neck, satin finish with a lovely smooth finish through use. Machine heads still nice and accurate Neck and fingerboard are still true with no twisting or warpage. Set up with a low action and no fret buzz at all. Made in KOREA, build quality that is expected of ARIA instruments. Reason for sale - my 1st 5 string and I just haven't taken to the extra string idea

  15. As my one and only band are having a re-union after some 25 years apart, I am having to learn to play again after giving it up when the band originally split. It's times like this that you realise what the online age has done to help people starting out in music Have grabbed some kit as follows: PEAVEY TKO 115 S COMBO AMP ARIA SB505 Also picked up a Yamaha fretless (thanks Kev) We played / will be playing our own stuff which at the time would have been defined as post-punk / new wave I guess. My old set up was an Ibanez roadster through a McGregor 200W / 15" ported speaker. Would welcome some advice as to how to get the best out of the new kit. Have added a Boss Bass Chorus and will prob look for a Compressor as well
  16. Hi Kev Am interested in fretless - would you be prepared to post at my expense and risk ?
