Bought the Legato WS50 (£47 Amazon) which operates at 5.8 and I've not had a bit of bother. I was genuinely concerned it was going to be garbage at that price (I'd have sent it back via Amazon returns policy) but I hear no difference between it, a cable or my Line 6 unit.

Warwick got it right but the Fender J Thinline just looks like a (money making) after thought!

Looks like something Howard 'The Bass Doc' might have put together!

Linsoul is the brand.

Experienced loads of examples of dirty leccy over the years. Many pubs have ancient electrics which tbh were never fitted with todays present drain in mind; added to which many pubs add bits on etc. I've known extensions glued to walls and plugged into the Landlord's residence above, whole bands expected to run off one wall socket etc. The intermittent hum/buzz is the worst, I've enough first hand experience now to just watch what the bar staff are doing when it starts, it'll invariably be a beer pump or piece of equipment that they use, a fridge being opened and triggering a cooler to kick in was another.
Purpose built venues should never have these issues inc any lighting RFI... you'd hope any way!

Ah but it isn't £85 BIN. It is £85 starting bid OR make an offer.

Where to start...
Almost every gig someone will ask for a song in a genre we patently do not do. The usual, 'Sorry we don't do that one.' is invariably followed with the punters response 'But everyone knows that one!' One drunk lady recently came up to the band (obviously mid song when we were playing and singing) and started shouting 'Play that one by what they called again, you know... the one that goes Da da da da, de de dooh!'.
There's a venue I used to play regularly and EVERY band was aware of the punter who was there every week and without fail he would stand dead centre in front of whoever the singer was and shout at them to do some Zappa! The first time it happens, it is disconcerting but you get used to it. I did once suggest we learn a Zappa tune for him... where the hell do you start with that one?

I`m glad you found some replacements as I tried to order a tuner from their online shop only to discover they don`t ship to the UK due to us not being in the EU. I had to order it through the UK importer, then I had to wait until they were getting a shipment of basses as they wouldn`t order the part on it`s own.
Madness!
No. I'll not be ordering from Sandberg's online shop. I'll order a full set of 3 matching aged nickel ones from Stewmac; x3 for £12 is cheaper than x1 from Sandberg.

How much are you valued by your bandmates? This has been a recurring theme of mine at recent gigs. Last night I changed the set up and put everything through the pa, no backline for me, just a monitor.
The singer gave the sound a big thumbs up in soundcheck, and away we went.
Guess what? Not one member of the band asked for bass in their foldback.
This isn't always the case - some of my bands love the bass, but last night's bunch, not so much.
Audience enjoyed the evening and I got paid.
I generally play in a 3 piece (other band is essentially a 3 piece with the 4th member being the vocalist), I'm pretty sure if they couldn't hear me they'd be stuffed!
We do however regularly use dep drummers and I have to say that if they aren't listening to me and the guitarist and reacting to how we play a particular song (is that valuing us?), they generally don't get asked back. The drummers who know what they are doing and listening for nuances are the ones I want to have in a band with me.

Actually Stewmac do relic chrome regular domes for less than £4... makes sense to get 3 of them!
Cheers Luke.

If I bought a set of 3 Gotoh they'd look OK but not the same as Sandberg. Also need to be conscious of the fact they are CTS split shafts which are the same diameter as Sandberg but Gotoh and others might not fit.

Did anyone ever find or order replacement Sandberg knobs for their bass? I'm after 1 nickel aged jobbie which is 14 euro plus shipping from Sandberg... seems steep.

We had a gig in a 'brewery'! It's a brewery and an events location where they do beer tastings, Bob Ross Paint-alongs (with beer). corporate parties etc, hence they had an in-house PA that we hooked up to. Sound was a bit 'Meh' as it was a large brick warehouse with steel containers and a high tin roof but it got awfully hot and muggy as the gig progressed.

Sandberg do this configuration but it in only comes in one colour and an ebony board. The Martin Mendez model.
I did look at that but they are like hen's teeth used (and expensive new) + the white/black was too limiting but the biggest decision maker was that I got to choose where to put the pups.

Aguilar AG 4J-70 pickups and OBP-2 pre came as standard on my Vox Starstream A2S. Sensational set-up IMHO.
IIRC these are the AG 4J HC and they are wired passive to CT 275 pots.

Have you fitted a set of Aguilars in there.
How do they sound.
Sometimes i think the standard Sandberg pick ups are a bit sterile and have no warmth like my fenders.
I still like them but best of both worlds would be Sandberg bass with Fender pick ups.
Dave
Yes Aguilars and they sound sweet. Not too aggressive (my other pups sitting in my drawer were Bartolini and DiMarzio) and very balanced... not sterile.

Sweet... And you still have the pick guard to go PJ if need be.
Indeed. I missed a trick by not having EMG type quick clik connections to swap out.

That looks amazing. Rounds.
Cheers. I actually think I have a set of 'Compression Wound', might be a good compromise/starting point.

I've hankered after a P bass body bass with JJ pups (think Willie Weeks) installed but I could never find one that had a downsized light weight body... till I got my Sandberg.
It did have a pickguard but I liked it off.
So I took the bass to a local(ish) guy; 'Paul Richardson Guitars' and got him to route the body and create a new pickguard that would cover the existing route. I pick the bass up tomorrow but I was so excited when he put a pic up on FB that I had to share.
The body was CNC routed and the pickguard done by hand. The close ups of the guard show that he has cut it so precisely with amazing tolerances.
I'll feed back tomorrow after I've collected it... and gigged it a couple hours later in the afternoon. It has flats, do I go rounds?

My old bass from back in the 90's. The bass was finished like this back in the 90's by Dave Wilson (Hexham) and I'm pretty sure it isn't nitro.

Just out of interest what does the 2112 give or not give that the VT gives (or not gives)?
Can one do something the other can't?

I wonder if the different models vary? Was yours 2.4 or 5.8?
