I can take it! Just need to appropriate an envelope from work...
Hi. Just checked and someone messaged me first so it's on hold. Apols.

I'll post it back to Bass Direct later today if nobody wants it. I have a phobia of things going to waste!

I've got one that I run with a CMD121 combo. Fantastic bits of kit. GLTWTS

I accidentally got a six string instead of five string set. Not worth returning for exchange as the postage would be more than the refund so if anybody wants a 30 guauge string send me an SAE and I'll post it back.
It's from a multiscale set but there's no tapering on this one so it'll fit on anything.

Update - managed to play the first fret on the 5th string. Got there slowly and not pushing myself but it's a relief to know that I'm on the mend! Gonna take me a while before I'm comfortable around the fretboard but really good to know I'm back on the mend!

You have my sympathy!! Smashed my right shoulder body-boarding in 2001, which ended up fixing itself eventually (sort of). Knew it wasn't good when the x-rays came back and I could see the doctors saying oooh that's not good. Was going to be kept in to have it replaced as the left one was a few years later, but then they had a big RTA come in and there were no beds so I was strapped up and sent back to the campsite by taxi in the middle of the night.
Left shoulder was replaced around 20 years ago - the start of many repairs.
As Nicko says GET PHYSIO & DO YOUR EXERCISES! My left shoulder works ok but could be better if I had really worked at the exercises (and possibly if the physio hadn't gone slightly easy on me). Getting all the muscles around it generally that hold everything together is also important.
A GruvGear Duo strap helped out with heavier basses until I got lighter ones I can manage a gig with on a normal strap. Cheaper than a new bass but if you do get the leather strap that runs across the back of the bass between strap buttons for the second strap to loop round. I started with the webbing version but found it not solid enough.
Thanks for the advice!

A fracture is a break. It's already there.
Well yes. I mean careful not to do any more damage! At the moment it’s in a single piece. I broke my other shoulder before and now I’m part metal !!

Grit your teeth and keep playing, softy. 😉
I have to be careful not to turn a fracture into to a break!!!

My wife slipped over in the kitchen earlier this year and broke her shoulder. The yowl when she hit the stone floor was incredible, like Yoko Ono on steroids or something!
I hope you recover soon, best of luck with the healing process 👍
I made some very expressive utterances…

Did the same thing few years ago, even when I got the use of my arm back I stil had to play seated for a while. Lightweight, short scale and headless basses (preferably at least two of those attributes in one instrument) are a help, fortunately I had an Aria Sinsonido and one of the Ibanez parlour acoustics to tide me over. Eventually started gigging with an Ibanez EHB headless, around 3kg and no pressure on my left shoulder whatsoever.
So the silver lining is you have a perfectly valid reason to buy at least one new bass.
It’s a nice idea but I’ll see how much recovery I make in the next week. I can already touch my left hand to my left shoulder so hopefully as the swelling goes down I’ll get mobility back. New bass IS NOT AN OPTION! Worryingly though I play a Dingwall Combustion most of the time so I may end up back on the Stringray for some time…

Super happy here! Got a tiny little drum machine/looper pedal for cheap and it's a blast! Great communication, arrived quickly and well packaged in perfect condition. Many thanks @Burns-bass!

I can only talk about experience, but my Markbass CMD12 has a LMII head, I've used an LMIII head and I've found them very clean. I've got a TCBH800 and that's way WAY warmer and more vintage by comparison, even with the EQ flat.

Indeed and I’m sure you’re right. However some people, from their posts, seem to think it’s the same company!! Linked but not the same 👍
Must admit, I'd never given it any thought really. So, they're not the same company? Thtat does rather explain the confusing naming...

Just picked up a bass from Sam in Brighton and it was a tip-top A1 transaction. Really enjoyed meeting up and having a big bass geek chatfest! Always great/worrying to hang out with people as obsessed as I am… Would be delighted to deal with again. Cheers!!!

I had the 2x12" version. Super high-quality kit (and complete and utter overkill for my needs). GLWTS

Not a Tort fan... on the P or the J
But that looks great on more of a 'shape' A cross between Dante's Inferno and the new painting of the King!
On behalf of the bass, that's very touching and we're both moved. Thank you!

I was about to roll my eyes at yet another tort scratchplate thread. But that looks mint!
Cheeers! I've had a clear one on for ages and it looks great, but I've not seen this combo of Combustion/tort before so glad it worked out. Also wanted to give a shout out to Tiny Tone - really good customer service. They had the design on file from the last job so did me a discount and I got it really quick.

That's nice!
Thanks. It's a cheap way to pretend to myself I've got a new bass, especially as I'm really happy with the Combustion. I like the mix of retro scratchplate and futuristic bass design.

Finally think I'm getting to grips with the EQ on the Darkglass ADAM
in General Discussion
Posted
I LOVE the distortion on my ADAM. It's a top-notch preamp I use daily going into a desk and the cab sim is oustanding. I like the compression, though I don't use it much BUT I've never really liked the EQ ... but last night at a rehearsal it made a lot more sense, dialling down the lower frequencies to calm a bit of boom in the room through the supplied GK 2x10" combo. It's not a "nice" eq for making lovely sounds, it's a live tool for sorting out problems.
It doesn't do the nice smiley-face scoop/preshape slap tone that a TE is perfect for, but that's okay. Maybe one day I'll get a GEQ pedal.
I think.
